Women's Event at NAPT Las Vegas Will Feature $30,000 Guarantee

Nivel 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
NAPT Women's Event
NAPT Women's Event

PokerStars listened to feedback from female poker players on how to draw women to the game, and now the poker site is responding.

The upcoming PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas festival will feature a $330 buy-in Women's Event on Nov. 5. Notably, the event has a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool attached.

Last year's NAPT Women's Event had a $360 price tag and drew 94 entrants for a prize pool of $28,200. That means PokerStars is expecting this year's event to be an even greater success.

The Women's Event will get underway at 12:30 p.m. local time on Nov. 5 and allows for unlimited reentry. The event will feature 30-minute levels and will see players starting with stacks of 30,000.

Flush for Livschitz

Nivel 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Victoria Livschitz opened to 2,500 from the cutoff, and was called by Alessio Isaia on the button and Mehmet Demirkol in the big blind.

On the 984 flop, action was checked to Isaia, who slid out a bet of 3,500. Demirkol folded but Livschitz stuck around.

The turn brought the 6 and Livschitz check-called versus a bet of 7,500.

The 9 river completed the board and was checked through. Livschitz tabled K5 for the king-high flush, and Isaia mucked.

Frankland Claws it Back With Triple Up

Nivel 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Mathew Frankland was all in preflop with a short stack in a raised pot and was called by David Karsenty and Stanislaw Grodek.

Karsenty and Grodek opted to check it all the way down on a board of 9J339 and players revealed their cards.

Grodek had A10 for ace high with the two pair on board. Karsenty had 77 for two pair, nines and sevens. Frankland had A9 and made a full house, nines full of threes, to win the pot and triple up his short stack.

There was a small side pot of around 4,000, which went to Karsenty.

Ushakov Backdoors Diamonds to Stun Song

Nivel 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Yunkyu Song
Yunkyu Song

Kirill Shcherbakov opened to 2,500 from under the gun and Yunkyu Song three-bet the small blind to 13,000. Evgenii Ushakov then shoved from the big blind for around 45,000, which got Shcherbakov to fold, then Song stood up and put his jacket on, slung his bag over his shoulder despite having the covering stack. Eventually, Song called.

Evgenii Ushakov: Q10 All in
Yunkyu Song: AK

Ushakov had found the light four-bet shove, but wasn't in as bad shape as he could have been, until the flop of 5K2 left him with on a glimmer of hope of survival. That glimmer turned into a brighter shine as the 6 on the turn gave Ushakov a flush draw, and then into a gleaming pot of gold when the 9 landed on the river as the Russian player completed his flush.

Song couldn't believe it and stared at the board in disbelief, then said "How do you find that shove?" — with no response.

"Where are you from?" asked Fahredin Mustafov. "Russia," replied Ushakov.

"Ahh, you don't care. You are super rich, yeah?" said Mustafov. Ushakov laughed it off and started to stack the chips he just won, which left him with almost 100,000.

Yosifov Plays the Board, Savevski Chips Up With a Boat

Nivel 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a flop of 6A10 with around 10,000 in the middle, both Nikolay Yosifov and Leonidas Kostagiolas checked it over to Ilija Savevski, who fired 3,000. Yosifov called, and Kostagiolas folded.

An A paired the board on the turn, where both players checked through to the 10 river. Yosifov led out for 10,000, and Savevski thought for a while before he tossed in the call.

Yosifov showed 54 for a busted flush draw and was playing the board, then Savevski tabled the winner with A7 for a full house.

Shcherbakov Dominates the Table

Nivel 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With the pot sitting around 9,000 and the flop showing 953, Ognyan Dimov led out with a bet of 5,000 as the first to act. Rosalie Petit wasn't shy, bumping it up to 16,000, and Kirill Shcherbakov came along with the call. Dimov decided to step aside and folded.

When the 5 hit the turn, Petit kept up the pressure with another 16,000 bet, only to face an all-in move from Shcherbakov. Petit wasn’t ready to risk her tournament life and folded, letting Shcherbakov scoop a decent pot.

In the very next hand, Evgenii Ushakov opened with a raise to 2,500 from middle position, and Shcherbakov responded by three-betting to 7,000, which Ushakov called.

On the 64J flop, Ushakov checked, and Shcherbakov fired 4,500. Ushakov called again. The 4 landed on the turn, and after another check from Ushakov, Shcherbakov bet 16,500. This time, Ushakov had enough, folding and giving the pot to Shcherbakov.

Arsenii Karmatckii opened to 2,600 from early position, and was faced with a three-bet to 9,000 from Ivan Kuziv in the small blind. Action back to Karmatckii, who four-bet jammed with the covering stack, with Kuziv quickly getting his 35,600 total stack into the middle.

Monica Vaka
Monica Vaka

Monica Vaka raised to 2,400 from late position and Sergei Varnaev three-bet to 8,500 from the button. Vaka then four-bet to 24,000 and Varnaev looked across at his opponent before carefully placing a call in the middle.

The flop came QJA and Vaka moved all in for a little less than 30,000, which Varnaev snap-called. Vaka showed A10 for a pair of aces, while Varnaev turned over AQ for two pair, aces and queens.

The turn was the 8 and river the 8. Varnaev held to win the pot, sending Vaka to the rail.
