EPT Cyprus Eureka Champs Side-by-Side

Nivel 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Diogo Coelho
Diogo Coelho

EPT Cyprus Eureka $1,100 Main Event and $2,200 High Roller winners Leo Worthington-Leese and Diogo Coelho are on the same table, sat in the one and eight seat respectively.

Leese took home $314,030 from the $2,662,850 prizepool for his efforts. He finished third in the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event this year for $437,918, so he went two better to claim his first EPT trophy.

Coelho's triumph came on on the heels of a near miss at the 2024 WSOP Main Event, where he bowed out in 10th place for $800,000, just shy of the final table. In Cyprus, he redeemed himself by defeating Italy's Michele Guerrini heads-up, following a deal that saw Coelho claim $357,048 along with the Golden Shard.

Coelho was in action, three-betting to 13,000 from the big blind after Simeon Spasov opened to 4,000 from the button. Spasov called and then called Coelho's continuation bet of 7,500 on the J86 flop. Coelho then check-called for 6,000 on the 2 turn before the 6 river checked through to showdown.

Coelho tabled K2 for sixes and deuces, and Spasov couldn't show anything better, and he mucked his hand.

Warburton's Kings Cracked by Arkhipenkov

Nivel 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Steve Warburton
Steve Warburton

Steven Warburton raised to 4,500 from under the gun and Artur Martirosian called in the cutoff. Anton Arkhipenkov was in the small blind and shoved for 45,000, then Warburton reshoved for around 150,000. Martisosian quickly folded.

Anton Arkhipenkov: AQ All in
Steven Warburton: KK

Arkhipenkov needed to find some help from the dealer and the flop of A1010 was a good start as he paired his ace. Warburton had two outs to regain the lead, but could never find either as the 95 runout meant Arkhipenkov's ace stayed in the lead.

Coelho Finds River Hero-Call

Nivel 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Diogo Coelho
Diogo Coelho

In a battle of the blinds between players who have already picked up trophies this week, Diogo Coelho and Leo Worthington-Leese, the pot had swollen to 80,000 with a completed board reading 45310J.

Coelho checked to his opponent, who moved all in for around 41,000 with the covering stack. Coelho, who had about 35,000 left behind, looked pained and went into the tank.

After about two minutes, he peered across the dealer trying to get a look at his opponent, who remained stoic throughout. Coelho lent back in his chair, clasped his hands behind his head, and suddenly made the call.

Worthington-Leese tabled A8 for ace-high, having missed his flopped straight draw and turned nut flush draw, while Coelho had 77 for third pair sevens, sending him the double-up and leaving the Brit with crumbs, which was reduced to nothing not much later.

Grigoli Liklikadze had made an open-raise from the cutoff when Omar Del Pino three-bet to 10,500 on the button. The action folded back to Liklikadze, who four-bet jammed for 35,000.

Del Pino instantly called, tabling the cards.

Liklikadze did not improve on the 6810J10 board, seeing Del Pino's queens eliminate him.

Kurbanov's Boat is Bigger than Lipauka's

Vadzim Lipauka

With around 30,000 chips in the pot on a board of 95769, Timur Kurbanov had fired 21,000 on the river and Vadzim Lipauka took around a minute before he shoved. Kurbanov had around 70,000 total and quickly made the call, which put him at risk.

Lipauka then tabled a full house with 55, but that was no good as Kurbanov had a bigger boat with 77 to scoop the pot and double up.

Yaghmai made the call while Vogelsang got out of the way.

Aleksandr Lakhov: 1010 All in
Nariman Yaghmai: 88

The higher pair held on the 923KK board, seeing Lakhov double up. Meanwhile, Ivan Zabiiakin was spotted with a huge stack at this table, while Steve O'Dwyer had recently departed.

Astedt Gets Raised; Lakerveld Calls Off His Stack

Nivel 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Niklas Astedt opened to 4,000 from the hijack. Aleksandr Burov and Eero Rantala called from the button and blinds.

Rantala checked on the 832 flop before Astedt continued for 6,000. Burov made it 17,500 and folded out both opponents.

As that hand played out, Nicola Cappellesso was in the middle of putting Daniel Lakerveld to the test for his tournament life on another table.

With around 25,000 on the 3465A completed board, Lakerveld bet 3,000 from the hijack, leaving around 26,500 behind. Cappellesso raised to his opponent all-in and Lakerveld went deep into the tank.

Several minutes passed and then Lakerveld called to put himself at risk.

Cappellesso tabled 77 for a seven-high straight, and secured the bust out after Lakerveld could only show AK.

Liu Finishes Fuchs

Nivel 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Tom Fuchs had lost most of his stack with kings against aces, and was all-in for his last 10,000 and at risk versus Xiaohu Liu.

Tom Fuchs: 88 All in
Xiaohu Liu: JJ

The bad luck for Fuchs continued as he ran into yet another overpair, and the 9910A10 runout left him counterfeited and playing the board, while Liu scooped the pot with two pair, jacks and tens.
