O'Dwyer Wins Early Pot

Nivel 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer raised to 2,500 from the cutoff and Paulius Plausinaitis three-bet to 9,000 from the button. O'Dwyer called and action went to the flop.

The flop came J5K and O'Dwyer checked. Plausinaitis continued for 6,000 and O'Dwyer called. The turn was the 7 and O'Dwyer checked again. Plausinaitis made it 30,000 to go and O'Dwyer called.

Both players then checked to showdown on the 8 river. O'Dwyer had QJ for a pair of jacks. Plausinaitis mucked and O'Dwyer scored an early pot.

The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour, running at the Hilton Prague, continues today with the €25,000 Super High Roller Warm-Up, which should attract elite players from across the globe who are looking to get involved with the second priciest event on the schedule. The tournament starts at 12.30 p.m. local time and will play down to winner.

Although there have been events at this price point before, this is the first time the named "SHR Warm-Up" will be held in Prague.

The last time the event was held was at the EPT Cyprus, where PokerStars Ambassador Elias Gutierrez bested a field of 56-entrants, finishing with a heads-up duel against Alexander Zubov, to earn himself the top prize of $417,570.

Players will begin with starting stacks of 250,000, with blinds at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big blind ante. Levels increase every 30 minutes and there will be a scheduled break every four levels, including a 75-minute dinner break at the end of Level 12.

This is an unlimited reentry tournament and late registration remains open until the start of Level 8.

As is often the case with events of this caliber, there will be a shot clock implemented from the start to ensure a fair pace. Players will be given 15 seconds to act on their first decision and 30 seconds thereafter. Everyone starts with four time-bank cards, which are topped up at the end of each odd level.
