Jaffee Picks Up Aces to Leave Swift on Fumes

Nivel 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Jon Swift
Jon Swift

Jon Swift raised to 40,000 in the hijack and Jared Jaffee three-bet to 120,000 on the button. Swift then moved all in and Jaffee snap-called for 480,000.

Jared Jaffee: AA All in
Jon Swift: 55

Jaffee had woken up with aces and was a big favorite to double up as the board ran out 7384K to secure him the pot.

Swift was left with just 75,000 and was all in a few hands later from the small blind and up against Curt Kohlberg and Joel Micka.

The flop came 48K and Micka bet 55,000 from the button to chase Kohlberg in the big blind.

Jon Swift: J6 All in
Joel Micka: AA

Swift was again up against aces and the board ran out 23 to send him to the rail.

Shin Outflips Abreu

Nivel 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Byung Shin opened to 40,000 from early position and was called by Martin Carnero on the button and Brock Wilson in the small blind. In the big blind, Andre Abreu jammed for 325,000, Shin rejammed, and the others folded.

Andre Abreu: AK All in
Byung Shin: 77

It was a tossup and the Q102 flop gave Abreu more outs. However, the 7 on the turn gave Shin a set and left Abreu with four outs. The 9 completed the board and Abreu was eliminated in 26th.

Micka Sets Up Mugar to Score a KO

Nivel 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Peter Mugar opened the cutoff to 40,000 before Joel Micka three-bet to 190,000 from the small blind. Mugar responded with an all-in jam for his remaining 430,000 and Micka called it off to put Mugar at risk.

Peter Mugar: AK All in
Joel Micka: 55

It was a coinflip scenario until the KJ5 flop gave Micka a set of fives. Mugar was drawing dead on the 4 turn to the 2 river as he hit the rail.

Brannan Does the Damage, Kohlberg Finishes Off Bohmerwald

Nivel 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Michael Bohmerwald
Michael Bohmerwald

Frank Brannan raised to 40,000 in early position and Michael Bohmerwald moved all in from the big blind. Brannan awaited the results of an all-in at another table before he called for 350,000.

Frank Brannan: 99 All in
Michael Bohmerwald: 33

Brannan had Bohmerwald dominated as the board ran out AK764 to earn him a double up.

The next hand, Curt Kohlberg raised to 45,000 in the cutoff and Bohmerwald reraised to 180,000, leaving only a few chips behind. Kohlberg moved all in and Bohmerwald called off his last chips.

Michael Bohmerwald: 55 All in
Curt Kohlberg: QQ

Bohmerwald had again run into a bigger pocket pair and, just like the first time, found no help on the A8236 board as he was sent to the rail.

Liberto Tanks & Hits River

Nivel 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Justin Liberto
Justin Liberto

Brian Yoon opened to 40,000 from the cutoff and David "ODB" Baker called on the button. Justin Liberto three-bet jammed to 160,000 with just 5,000 behind and Yoon folded as Baker took some time to help Liberto see a pay jump.

Liberto tanked before checking on the flop of Q9Q and Baker bet to put him all in. Liberto called.

Justin Liberto: AK All in
David "ODB" Baker: 1010

Liberto needed to hit an ace or a king and did so as the board finished out 5K to bring him a double.

"That's not surprising," commented Jared Jaffe. "The only surprising thing is that he had that many outs."

Nivel 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Martin Carnero opened from early position and was called by Byung Shin in the small blind and Brian Frasca in the big blind.
