In a blind versus blind battle, Victor Paredes raised enough from the big blind to put Jeff Madsen all in, and Madsen called for 1,070,000.

Madsen was ahead with his fives as the 9♠4♣2♠ flop gave Paredes a straight draw, but he improved no further on the 6♥ turn or 10♦ river and Madsen doubled up.
A few hands later, Madsen raised to 85,000 under the gun and Paredes three-bet to 240,000 in the hijack. Madsen four-bet to 595,000 and Paredes quickly folded.
Maria Konnikova opened to 80,000 from under the gun and Byung Eun Shin defended his big blind.
On the K♣10♦8♦ flop, Konnikova continued for 160,000 before Shin check-jammed for 470,000 and Konnikova snapped it off.

Shin had outflopped Konnikova's aces and looked to be in good shape to double. The 5♣ turn was safe for Shin and he even picked up a flush draw. However, the dealer peeled the K♦ on the river to counterfeit Shin as he hit the rail in 18th place.
David "ODB" Baker opened to 80,000 in the hijack and Brent Hart three-bet jammed a stack of 555,000 from the cutoff.

Baker had correctly guessed his opponent's hand but couldn't win the flip as the board ran out 4♣7♦Q♥6♦2♥ to earn Hart a double.

The turn brought the repeat J♣. Affleck opted to jam for 390,000 which sent Madsen into the tank. After burning through all six of his time banks, Madsen put in the call.

Li checked on the flop of 6♥5♥Q♥ and Baker continued for 60,000. Li called. Li check-called again on the J♣ turn as Baker sized up to 140,000.
Li checked once more on the 2♠ turn and Baker checked back. Li showed Q♦J♥ for two pair and Baker mucked in defeat.

Maria Konnikova opened to 80,000 from middle position with J♥10♦ and was called by Brock Wilson in the cutoff with K♦J♦.
On the 10♣6♦5♦ flop, Konnikova continued for 90,000 and Wilson put in the call.
The turn brought the Q♣, Konnikova checked to Wilson who jammed for 815,000 effective as the slightly covering stack. Konnikova used a time bank before she opted to let it go, and Wilson was able to take it down with his combo draw.
Victor Paredes raised to 80,000 on the button and Matthew Wantman moved all in for 460,000 in the small blind. Paredes quickly folded.
The next hand, Wantman shoved for 580,000 on the button and both Curt Kohlberg and Matt Affleck gave up their blinds. Masato Yokosawa then raised to 80,000 in the hijack and Wantman shoved again from the cutoff. Yokosawa also surrendered as Wantman took his third hand in a row.
