Day 1a of the $800 Main Event is in the books here at RGPS Rungood Resort Council Bluffs. A total of 121 hopefuls made their way to Horseshoe Council Bluffs with the goal of finding a bag. However, at the end of the night just 15 players advanced to Day 2 and will be in the money.

Leading the way is Ben McCoy who bagged an impressive 613,000. He took full advantage of an elongated bubble as he accumulated the majority of his stack in the late stages of the night.

Many notable players came out for Day 1a but were unable to find a bag, including WSOP bracelet winners Mo Nuwwarah and Blair Hinkle, 16-time WSOP ring winner Daniel Lowery, Nick Barksdale, and Phil Mader.

Marty Makes the Right Call

Nivel 13 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The under the gun player raised to 10,000 and was called by Adrian Hernandez next to act as well as the small blind and Chuck Marty in the big blind.

On the K104 flop, Marty led for 10,000 from the big blind and only the under the gun player called.

The turn was the J. Marty continued for 10,000 and his opponent stuck around.

On the J river, Marty fired 10,000 for a third time before the under the gun player raised to 25,000. Marty went deep into the tank for over two minutes before he announced call.

Under the gun: A7
Chuck Marty: KQ

Top pair was good for Marty as he picked off a bluff to collect another pot.
