Aces vs. Kings Clash

Nivel 6 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Max Altergott
Max Altergott

Max Altergott raised to 14,000, and then Christoph Vogelsang reraised to 41,000. Altergott came back over the top with a reraise to 84,000, and then Vogelsang moved all in. Altergott snap-called and turned over the {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}. Vogelsang shook his head and tabled the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {10-}{9-}{9-}{10-}{8-}, and Altergott doubled to 900,000 in chips. Vogelsang was left with about 60,000.

Polk Eliminated by Peters

Nivel 6 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

David Peters raised to 15,000 and from the small blind it was Doug Polk who moved all in for 121,000. Peters gave it some thought before ultimately making the call.

Polk: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Peters: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Polk was knocked out. Polk, gracious in defeat, shook the hands of all players at the table and wished them good luck before exiting the tournament room. David Sands in particular spoke highly of Polk and hoped to see him again soon at the tables.

"What a pleasant guy," Andrew Robl added, as Polk was among the first to get knocked out.

Smith Eliminated by Esfandiari

Nivel 6 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Dan Smith raised to 13,000 from the hijack, Cary Katz called from the small blind and Antonio Esfandiari called from the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Katz checked to Esfandiari who bet 33,000. Smith shoved for roughly 90,000, Katz folded and Esfandiari called.

Smith: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Esfandiari: {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The {4-Hearts} turn kept Smith in the lead, but the {Q-Hearts} fell on the river to Esfandiari a queen-high straight to eliminate Smith.

"Not Boring Anymore!"

Nivel 6 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Jason Mercier raised to 14,000 from the hijack, Ben Lamb three-bet to either 38,000 or 48,000 from the small blind (he announced the amount softly and put two T25k green chips in), Mercier four-bet shoved for about 355,000 and Lamb tanked for a bit before he called.

Mercier: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Lamb: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

"All in and a call!" announced the dealer.

Antonio Esfandiari rushed over to survey the situation, but was disappointed to see it was likely to be a chop.

"Boring," said Esfandiari, before walking away.

However, the flop came down {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} to give Mercier a flush draw.

"Not boring anymore!" shouted Daniel Negreanu from the table. Esfandiari rushed back to watch the conclusion of the hand, but it ran out {Q-Diamonds} turn and {A-Diamonds} river, chopping the pot.

Doug Polk was all in for 74,000 from the cutoff with {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds} against David Peters' {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs} in the big blind. The board ran out {4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}, safe for Polk to score the double.

Meanwhile at Table 4, Igor Kurganov got his stack or roughly 165,000 into the middle from the small blind with {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} against Dong Kim's {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} on the button. The board came down {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, giving Kurganov a pair of queens to double up.

Koon Flushes Mercier

Nivel 5 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Igor Kurganov raised to 12,000 from early position, Jason Koon called from the small blind and Jason Mercier called from the big blind.

The flop came down {9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and action checked to Kurganov who continued for 20,000. Both opponents called to see the {6-Hearts} turn which was checked around. The {3-Hearts} river completed the board and Koon bet 60,000.

Only Mercier called, but he mucked when Koon tabled {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a flush.
