Anthony Charter jammed for 44,000 on the button and Jarryd Jardien was tempted from the big blind but ultimately folded. Only four players need to bow out for Day 1b to end, however, that may still take a while as they are short-handed on three tables.

Bernard Gossard lost his chips very recently and the frequently jamming Simon Solomon got it in preflop against Adam Gamsy in a blind battle to get called.
Adam Gamsy: 6♣6♦
Simon Solomon: A♣10♦
The 9♠4♦2♣K♠K♦ board kept the pocket pair ahead and Gamsy doubled for 60,000. Solomon had 36,000 left after the hand and bowed out soon after. With the departure of Toran Tate at almost the same time, the field was whittled down to 17 hopefuls spread across three tables.
Gerhard Oosthuizen squeezed preflop to 50,000 only for Samuel Finder to then push all-in for 191,000 total.
"Oh man, I really want to play," Oosthuizen said after he asked for an exact count and then folded the K♦K♥ face-up. Finder revealed his A♦A♥ as well before raking in the pot.
Shortly after, Simon Solomon jammed the last 40,000 into Finder and was called.
Simon Solomon: A♦5♦
Samuel Finder: Q♥Q♠
The board ran out J♦10♥8♠10♦3♦ and Solomon hit running diamonds to survive.
A short stack got the last few blinds in preflop with 10♦9♥ against the K♣Q♠ of Rajeev Poonhath.
Both players missed the A♥J♠3♠5♠4♥ runout and the pot was sent to Poonhath.

A big pot was brewing over on table eleven when Renier Britz got it in for the last 65,000 against Rajeev Poonhath on the A♣10♥7♣5♥ turn.
Renier Britz: K♣Q♣
Rajeev Poonhath: J♣10♣
Britz had several outs and the Q♥ river was among them to bring with it one of the biggest pots of the day so far.
In a three-bet pot preflop, Stephen Courtney and Jaco Mouton clashed when the chips went in after the 10♣3♥2♦5♠ turn.
Stephen Courtney: A♦A♣
Jaco Mouton: K♦K♥
The river was the 3♦ and Courtney scored a healthy double. Mouton was left on a shorter stack but doubled soon after.
On a heads-up flop of J♣9♥3♦, Bernard Gossard got a short stack into the middle with the J♥10♥ for top pair. Samuel Finder looked him up with 9♣8♥ and the inferior pair could not catch up on the 2♣ turn or K♠ river.
