The third of four starting starting flights kicks off at 1 p.m. local time here at the Casino de Marrakech for the 2024 Unibet Deepstack Open Marrakech. Yesterday's flight saw 257 players take their seats with just 65 surviving to Day 2.
There is also an additional turbo fourth flight this evening. It starts at 9 p.m. and features 15-minute levels. However, the same 25% of entries will earn their way into Saturday's Day 2.
Leading the way from yesterday was Laurent Cruchon. He won a few big pots late in the day to secure a bag of 559,000. Coming up just short in second place was Quentin Laugt, who bagged 539,000 with the help of a massive pot in a boat over boat scenario. Rounding out the podium in third with 515,500 is JJ.

Players will begin today with 50,000 in tournament chips. Levels last 50 minutes with a 15 minute break every two levels, and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 8. Registration remains open through to the end of Level 9 with unlimited re-entries allowed. The blinds will begin at 100/300 with a 300 big blind ante. Play continues until 25% of the field remains.

Yaccine Khettam opened to 700 from early position and Bouih Bady called on the button. In the big blind, Alexandra Laudicina squeezed to 3,000 and both players called.
On the A♦10♠4♠ flop, Laudicina continued for 2,000 before Khettam raised to 8,000. Bady got out of the way but Laudicina quickly called.
The 10♥ turn checked through to the 4♦ river which saw Laudicina check again. Khettam tossed out a bet of 12,000 which sent Laudicina into the tank. She thought for over a minute before she opted to let it go and Khettam collected a sizeable pot early.

Action was picked up on the flop five-ways in a single-raised pot with the board reading 10♠10♥8♠.
The action checked all the way to Marc Navarro on the button who bet 2,300 and only Mostafa El Belkhayate called in the hijack.
On the Q♥ turn, El Belkhayate opted to lead for 5,000 and Navarro quickly called.
The 9♣ peeled off on the river. El Belkhayate did not slow down on a dangerous board as he bet 11,000. Navarro did not take long before he called it.

El Belkhayate was bluffing with a missed flush draw while Navarro has trips that improved to a straight on the river as he dragged the pot.

Five ways to a J♠J♣5♦ flop, Bouzroud Said led for 1,000 from the big blind, which was called by Juan Antonio from under the gun and Uladzimir Luchkou from the hijack.
On the 8♥ turn, the action checked to Luchkou who bet 3,000 and only Antonio called.
The 6♠ peeled off on the river. Antonio checked to Luchkou who cut out a bet of 16,000. Antonio inquired about the chip stack of Luchkou before he check-jammed as the covering stack for 42,000 effective. Luchkou thought about it for a moment before he decided to let it go, and Antonio won a sizeable pot without showdown.
