Silva Makes a "Good Call"

Nivel 14 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

With about 40,000 in the middle, the turn read 972J and Pablo Silva checked from the big blind to Alessio La Francesca, who fired 12,000 into the middle from a couple of spots to his left. Silva took a few moments and made the call.

The K completed the board on the river and Silva checked once more. La Francesca pushed 130,000 across the line, enough to put Silva to the test for all of his chips. Silva tanked for about 40 seconds before deciding to call off his 58,000.

"Good call," La Francesca said while tabling AQ. Silva rolled AJ for a pair of jacks to earn the pot.

"Never bluff a Brazilian," commented Andre Marques as the dealer shipped the pot.

The Man Known as Teach is No More

Nivel 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Ken Aldridge
Ken Aldridge

Ken "Teach" Aldridge, who spent 29 years teaching high school, made a name for himself at the 2009 WSOP when he won Event #9: $1,500 NLH 6-Handed for $428,259 and a gold bracelet, which he wears every day.

Because he is a bracelet winner, Aldridge was invited to this tournament, but unfortunately just saw his run come to an end.

It happened when he got his last 38,000 all in preflop and was up against Michael Malm.

Ken Aldridge: AKAll in
Michael Malm: K10

Aldridge had the best of it, but the 27Q flop gave Malm a flush draw, and he hit it when the 8 spiked on the turn.

"Alright, I had fun guys," Aldridge offered sincerely after the meaningless 4 was run out on the river.

David Peters Gets There with "The Robbie"

Nivel 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

Alisson Piekazewicz moved all in for 45,000 and David Peters, one of the many players to jump into the tournament last minute, called off for 17,000 from the small blind.

David Peters: J4All in
Alisson Piekazewicz: QJ

Peters was dominated but he held jack-four, the hand made infamous by Robbi Jade Lew. The 10K7 flop didn't do Peters any favors, but the 4 turn did as he took the lead with a pair of fours.

Piekazewicz still had plenty of outs but the 3 river was not one of them. Ship the double to Peters.

The Q1058J runout was no help for Zerjav and he exited the tournament room.

Fast Sends Out Jaffe

Nivel 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Jonathan Jaffe jammed under the gun and Dietrich Fast asked for a count in the cutoff. After hearing it was 50,000, he announced all in as well, forcing the players behind him out of the pot.

"Jack-eight suited?" asked Jaffe, as they began to table their hands.

Jonathan Jaffe: A8 All in
Dietrich Fast: 99

Fast stood up as the dealer fanned the 1054 flop.

"This guy's standing, what's going on here?" Jaffe chuckled with confusion.

"I'm going to win this hand," Fast replied.

The dealer completed the board with the J on the turn and the 10 on the river, sending Jaffe out the door.

Wasserson Hits and Runs

Nivel 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Eric Wasserson
Eric Wasserson

Felipe Ramos and Eric Wasserson both bought in at the dinner mark and had gotten their 25,000 in the middle on their first hand back. Both players were standing as they watched the dealer run out the cards.

Eric Wasserson: QJ All in
Felipe Ramos: A3

The J73 flop gave Wasserson a pair of jacks to take the lead as he complained. He started calling for Ramos to hit a three to beat him but the 5 turn and 6 river meant his jack was still good.

The dealer pushed the pot toward Wasserson's empty seat while he ran back to continue playing in the $10,000 GGMillions on the other side of the room.
