Lucky River as Lin Chops with O'nan

Jianwei Lin opened the cutoff to 5,000 before Steven O'nan three-bet to 17,000 from the button, and Lin called.

On the 6♦4♦4♣ flop, O'nan continued for a chunky size of 31,000 which earned a look of confusion from Lin who ultimately called.

O'nan fired again for 65,000 on the 2♠ turn and Lin stuck around.

The 2♥ river was quickly checked through.

Ripnick's Second Barrel Forces 2023 Main Event Champion to Fold

John Ripnick opened 5,000 in the hijack and only 2023 World Series of Poker Paradise Main Event champion Stanislav Zegal came along from the small blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of A♥J♠10♣, and Zegal check-called a continuation bet of 7,000.

The 5♦ hit the turn and Zegal checked it over once again before Ripnick sized up to 35,000. This time Zegal surrendered the pot by tossing his cards toward the dealer.

Ketzer Hits the "Perfect River" on Kenjic

Jovan Kenjic raised to 5,000 under the gun and Felipe Ketzer three-bet to 18,000 in the cutoff. Kenjic called and they went heads-up to the 7♣5♣2♠ flop.

Both players checked and the 10♥ fell on the turn. Ketzer then bet 22,000 and Kenjic called.

The river was the A♣ and Ketzer bet 115,000. Kenjic leaned over the table taking a good look at the board before flicking in the chips to call as Ketzer showed 9♣8♣ for a rivered flush.

"Perfect river," Kenjic told him as he mucked.

Fishbein's Five-Bet Gets Through

Viktor Ustimov opened the cutoff to 5,000 before Glenn Fishbein three-bet to 15,000 from the button. With the action back on Ustimov, he put out a four-bet to 50,000. Fishbein then responded with a five-bet to 125,000. Ustimov would tank for over a minute before he elected to fold, conceding the pot to Fishbein without a flop.

WSOP Issues Major Rule Change to Electronic Device Use For Paradise Series

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise series is underway, and poker players attending should be aware of a rule change that will impact the use of electronic devices at the table.

Jonathan Tamayo won the WSOP Main Event for $10 million this past summer in Las Vegas. Controversy surrounded the victory after poker fans noticed his rail, which included poker pros Joe McKeehen and Dominik Nitsche, had a laptop open with apparent real-time assistance (RTA) software visible.

Tamayo would occasionally converse with his rail during the final table, and that led some to question if he had an unfair advantage. But no one has presented any evidence to prove he broke any rules or won the tournament because of an edge gained from his rail. Still, the WSOP did not have a rule in place to prevent potential controversies such as this from arising. They do now, however.

There are a few other additional new rules for the series, including banning electronic devices at the table altogether when a tournament is down to three tables. Players are also not permitted to place their cell phones or any electronic devices on the table or table rail during play.

Two players saw the A♥7♦4♣ flop and Jianwei Lin fired 12,000 into the pot of about 48,000 from the small blind. Tamer Alkamli was on the button and made the call.

The J♣ fell on the turn, and Lin continued for 36,000. This time that was enough to earn the pot as Alkamli slid his cards into the muck.

The turn was the 6♥ and Ustimov bet another 3,500. Newman again called and the 8♠ fell on the river. Ustimov then bet 51,000 and Newman quickly folded.

Heads-up on a flop of J♥7♥8♦, Taylor von Kriegenbergh bet 15,000 from the hijack and Felipe Ketzer called in the small blind.

Both players checked the 7♦ turn and the 7♠ fell on the river. Von Kriegenbergh then bet another 15,000 and Ketzer again called.

Von Kriegenbergh instantly tossed his cards into the muck and Ketzer took the pot without a showdown.
