Blumenthal Gets One Back

Nivel 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The action folded around to Eddie Blumenthal in the cutoff who raised to 29,000 before the flop; Darren Wong was the only caller from the button, so they went heads-up to the flop of {9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{A-Clubs}, where Blumenthal check-called Wong's bet of 28,000.

Both players then checked the turn of the {9-Hearts} before Blumenthal check-called Wong's bet of 50,000 after the river fo the {8-Spades}. Wong tossed up his hand in the air in despair.

"Nice hand man, you got it," Wong sighed, showing down {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for nothing but air. Blumenthal tabled {A-Spades}{3-Hearts} and that was enough to take it down.

There's a chemistry building between the stoic Blumenthal and the affable Wong - it could be the beginning of an "Odd Couple" rivalry over there on table 290!

Garcia showed the {10-Spades}{8-Clubs} for two pair and Jalkotzy mucked his hand.

Wong's All Right

Darren Wong has picked up a pot against Eddie Blumenthal to move up to 436,000 in chips as the action continues between our 14 remaining players.

The action folded around to Blumenthal who raised to 27,000 from the small blind; Wong called out of the big blind, so off they went to the flop of {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, which they both checked.

On the turn of the {10-Clubs}, Blumenthal check-called Wong's bet of 22,000 before doing the same after Wong's bet of 53,000 on the river of the {9-Clubs}.

"Straight - I flopped it," Wong said, quickly flipping over {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Blumenthal mucked and Wong raked in the chips.
