We just spotted an interesting player in the field. Pratyush Buddiga, who won the Scripps National Spelling Bee in 2002 (at the age of 13), is seated in the black section. Perhaps he'll be the first person to win a WSOP bracelet and the national spelling bee. We'll keep you posted!

Kagawa

Masaaki Kagawa is one of the earliest casualties today, the Japanese player appeared to have got into a sticky spot all in preflop with {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for his last 1,000 chips or so against {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and the board predictably punished him coming {8-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Jaka Gone

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

We didn't see the hand, but the seat next to Chad Brown, which was filled by Faraz Jaka, is now empty with no chips in front, meaning that he has been knocked out.

"I've Never Seen a Tight Asian"

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

With 700 chips in the pot and the board reading {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Kenny Nguyen had pushed all in for around 2,000 chips against Jason Young.

Young seemed to be struggling with whether to call or not and Nguyen asked, "You heard that I'm a tight player?" to which Young replied, "I've never seen a tight asian." That elicited a chuckle from the table and Young folded his {a-}{k-} face up.

Nguyen showed his {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for jack high and a flush draw and scooped up the pot bringing his stack to 2,850. Young still had around 4,500 after the hand.

Flack is the Fire Hydrant Today

Nivel 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

When we got to the table, Layne Flack was down to just 300 chips, and he put the rest of them in preflop. The big blind was the only caller, and the two flipped up their cards.

Flack: {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Big Blind: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The flop provided some fireworks when it came {j-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Spades}, giving both players two pair. The turn and river provided no miracles coming {10-Clubs} and {q-Hearts} and Flack was eliminated. As he got out of the chair, Flack said "Well sometimes you're the dog and sometimes you're the hydrant. Good luck guys." Everyone at the table, including Flack, had a laugh at that one.

Binks For Spinks

Nivel 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

Jon Spinks, who finished 4th in the $1,500 Stud event, just made an overcall for 1,500 on the river of a {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} board. The initial bettor turned over {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} and the caller folded when Spinks flipped {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a rivered two pair.

Moor Has Less

Nivel 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

Chris Moorman is sitting shaking his head with a rueful smile on his face as he is already down to 2,500.

"Some guy limp-called from UTG with {4-}{2-}, flopped trips...then I tried to bluff him..."
