Event #13: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout

Día 2 completado

End of Day 2

Nivel 8 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
David Pham
David Pham

And with that, we're finished for the day and it's a great line up for tomorrow including David Pham who has two bracelets, one in a $2,000 version of this very event. Also among the field are former bracelet winners Dan Kelly, Erik Cajelais, Frank Kassela and Vitaly Lunkin.

Tomorrow the format will be of a two table sit 'n' go with eight players at each table, all starting with 450,000 chips. With payout increases on each spot from now on, we're expecting tomorrow to be a very late day before we manage to find a winner.

The final day will start tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. We'll see you there!

Lunkin Slowplays Full House For the Win

Vitaly Lunkin

We aren't entirely sure of how the action all specifically went down, but Frank Rusnak bet almost every street of his final hand with Vitaly Lunkin calling the whole way.

On the river, the board read {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Rusnak bet 30,000. Lunkin then announced all in and Rusnak nearly snap called. Lunkin showed {6-Spades}{4-Clubs} for a full house and the table win. One table to go!

Makowsky Beats Weil

Daniel Makowsky just eliminated Mark Weil to leave us with just two tables remaining.

Makowsky held {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} all in preflop against Weil's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and the board came an exciting looking {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Makowsky looked incredibly relieved afterwards stating, "I'm never playing these shootouts again, I feel like I've lost five years off my life!"

The Dragon Beats Plens

David 'The Dragon' Pham put his chip lead to good use and Jonathan Plens never had a chance to get enough chips. The final hand saw Pham raise with {8-}{8-} and Plens pushed with {A-}{8-} and failed to find the ace to save his tournament life. Pham will go into tomorrow as one of the favourites no doubt.

Spinks Bests Lehavot

Jon Spinks just eliminated Amir Lehavot after donk-leading then three betting all in with {K-Spades}{9-Spades} on a {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Spades} board with Lehavot calling holding {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The {6-Hearts} on the turn meant Spinks was now freerolling the flush draw and he got there on the {J-Spades} river.

Spinks said afterwards, "I don't deserve this, I got so lucky everytime."

Taylor Paur Loses His Lead and His Table

Nivel 8 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Taylor Paur had Robbie Verspui down to around 70,000 in chips before a couple key hands put him back in the match.

Paur looked like he had the match wrapped up when he had Verspui all in with {K-Spades}{8-Diamonds} versus his {A-}{3-} but the board ran out {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} to give Verspui the win with the rivered {8-Diamonds}

A few hands later, Verspui doubled up again when he had {A-}{J-} versus Paur's {A-}{8-} all in pre flop with no help for Paur on the board. Verspui had about 330,00 to 120,000 after the hand.

On the last hand of the table, the two got three bets in before the flop, and on the flop of {9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}, Verspui bet, Paur went all in and Verspui called. Paur showed {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and and Verspui {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for an open ended straight draw. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and Paur walked out as he was drawing dead. Verspui advances and we are now down to five tables.
