Nguyen Takes One Early

Nivel 1

One-seat: {x-}{x-} / {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} / {x-}
Jeff Madsen: {x-}{x-} / {6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} / {x-}
Sean Nguyen {x-}{x-} / {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} / {x-}

We picked up the action on fifth street, where Madsen bet out before Nguyen raised, only to see the opponent in the one-seat reraise. Madsen and Nguyen called, then all three players checked on both the sixth and seventh streets before Nguyen tabled {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades}, which was good enough to scoop the pot.

More Big Names

Nivel 1

A trek around the tables in the White section of the Pavillion Room has revealed a handful of notable players, including Poker Hall of Famer Mike Sexton, who won his only WSOP bracelet in this event back in 1989, as well as Men "The Master" Nguyen, who is fresh from bubbling the final table of this year's $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship.

We've also spotted Scott Clements, Alan Goehring and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Mel Judah.

Level 1 Ante

Nivel 1

To clear up some potential confusion, the WSOP is trying something new out in their stud tournaments this year. For the first level, they are using the button, and the player on the button will have to ante 75, while the rest of the table won't ante. This is only the case for the first level, as after that, they have the usual antes for every player.
