Collopy, "This is a stupid game."

Nivel 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Huge pot over on Table 373:

Collopy: {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} / {3-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades} / {5-Hearts}
Trenck: {x-}{x-} / {3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts} / {x-}
Fast: {8-Spades}{2-Spades} / {7-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} / {10-Spades}
Hilderbrand: {x-}{x-} / {3-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} / {x-}

Joining the action on fourth street and Jim Collopy had fired out, getting called by Erika Trenck, Ron Fast and Par Hilderbrand. When Fast made open sevens, it was checked around to Trenck who bet with everyone calling and this was repeated on sixth street. On seventh, it was checked all the way around to Fast who bet, Hilderbrand made the call but then Collopy check-raised and everyone called.

Collopy showed his wheel which was only good for the low as Fast had made a ten-high flush for the high. Trenck was eliminated and Hilderbrand was scooped.

Collopy was very disappointed to hit a wheel and not take the whole pot, summing it all up with, "This is a stupid game."

First Chip Counts Of The Day

So far, we've mainly been concentrating on all of the short stacks that have busted, but obviously those chips are going to other players at the table, and here's a look at how some of the big names are faring so far today.

No Shirking Violette

Nivel 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Cyndy Violette
Cyndy Violette

Violette: {x-}{x-} / {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{A-Clubs} / {x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{J-Spades} / {x-}

Cyndy Violette had completed on third and her opponent made it two bets behind. Violette called and then called bets on fourth and fifth before firing out on sixth when he checked. On seventh the other player checked again and Violette bet once more, getting called. Violette showed {7-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} for a boat and her opponent flashed {10-}{9-}{6-} for trips that hadn't boated up.

Dwan Eliminated

Nivel 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Tom Dwan was knocked down to a mere 500 chips on a hand where his opponent had a flush. Dwan tossed his last 300 in on the next hand, and got two callers in Thor Hansen and Rostislav Tsodikov. The board ran out, and Hansen had a {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} low, while Tsodikov had two pair, kings and queens. Dwan couldn't beat either, and just like that, he has been eliminated.

Madsen Scoops

Nivel 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Madsen: {x-}{x-} / {4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} / {x-}
Savage: {x-}{x-} / {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} FOLDED
Barbaro: {x-}{x-} / {2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} / {x-}

Jeff Madsen brought in and Matt Savage completed. Francesco Barbaro, who won a bracelet in the 08 earlier in the series made the call and Madsen came along too. On fourth, Savage checked, Barbaro bet and Madsen called and the WPT tournament director mucked. Madsen fired out on fifth street and Barbaro called before the action went check-check as Barbaro made an open pair of tens.

Barbaro also checked on seventh and called a bet from Madsen, the young double bracelet winner showed {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} for a flush which was good enough for the entire pot as Barbaro couldn't produce a low.

Cernuto Hits the Scoop

Nivel 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Dwan: {x-}{x-} / {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} / {x-}
Cernuto: {x-}{x-} / {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts} / {x-}
Paluszek: {x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{9-Spades} / {x-}

Joining the action on sixth street and it had been checked around to Tom Dwan who bet, John Cernuto then check-raised and Jim Paluszek made the call. Dwan also called and Cernuto fired out on seventh, Paluszek folded and Dwan sighed and made the call.

Cernuto turned over {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for the ace high flush and a 7-5-4-3-A low to scoop the pot and "Durrrr" mucked his hand.
