Weisner Chipping Up

Nivel 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

On a flop of {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{K-Spades} Melanie Weisner bet out 575 and was raised by a player at her table to 1,500. She elected to just call.

The turn came the {j-Hearts}, Weisner checked, her opponent bet 1,800, and she check-raised all in and got a call.

Weisner showed {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for a flopped full house and her opponent showed {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and was drawing dead. The river was an irrelevant {5-Spades} and Weisner moved up to around 13,000

Flush No Good For Selbst

Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

Vanessa Selbst is out. The Team PokerStars Pro hasn't been able to get much going this WSOP so far, and hands like this don't help.

The pot was raised up to 250 preflop with three-way action. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and the player in the hijack bet 475. The cutoff got out of the way and Selbst, on the button, re-raised to 1,150. The player in the hijack then re-raised again to 3,050, Selbst moved all in for a little over 7,000, and the hijack called.

Selbst had {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the nut flush draw and the hijack had {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for a set of twos.

The turn {j-Diamonds} gave Selbst the flush and the lead in the hand, but the river {2-Spades} gave the hijack quad twos and sent Selbst to the rail with a pretty nasty beat. It's been a tough start to the WSOP for Selbst but we certainly haven't seen the last of her

Overheard at Yellow 131

Nivel 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

We often overhear many things while walking through the tables, most not for children's ears. We're not going to name names, but an iPhone was out and we heard "She can crush a watermelon between her legs."

Durrrr Gone

Nivel 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

It was only a matter of time before Tom Dwan and Jeffrey Papola were involved in a big hand. We caught them in action after the flop with the board {6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. Papola bet 475 and Dwan called.

The {k-Hearts} fell on the turn. Dwan checked, Papola bet 1,100 and Dwan called. The river brought the {10-Diamonds}. Dwan checkedm Papola bet 3,600 and Dwan called. Papola turned over {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for the flush.

Two hands later Papola opened up action with a 250 raise and the player from the small blind reraised to 725. Dwan moved all in for his remaining 325 chips and Papola folded.

Dwan: {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

The Intense Stare of Scott Clements (TM) called 550 on a flop of {8-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} from a player in the big blind. The turn came {3-Hearts} and the big blind moved all in. Clements called and tabled {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} for a flopped set. The big blind was in dire straits holding {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. The river was bricked and Clements is up to about 11,000.
