Two full days of play and we're still not into the money in the Seven Card Stud-8 Championship event. Eric Rodawig (695,000) will be going into the (possible) final day of this tournament as the chip leader, at the top of a very stacked field that still includes Phil Hellmuth, Erik Seidel, Ted Forrest and David Benyamine.

We started today with 127 players, in essence around 75% of the field were still involved but things quickly became serious as players dropped thick and fast for the vast majority of the day. Among those to fall included Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Erick Lindgren, Barry Greenstein and Jason Mercier but our remaining field is stacked despite not having made the money yet.

Tomorrow we'll be restarting at 3pm as this event continues - tune into PokerNews for all the latest updates!

Oh, the Zhumanity!

Yueqi Zhu: {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} / {A-Clubs}{3-Spades}{K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} / {7-Spades}
Felipe Ramos: {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} / {4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} / {8-Clubs}

Yueqi Zhu was all on sixth street with just a pair of threes but couldn't make trips or catch an ace against Felipe Ramos' four-flush that had become two pair. Both players bricked on seventh and Zhu's exit leaves us with 18 left.

Troy Falls

Maxwell Troy: {4-Clubs}{A-Hearts} / {2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{K-Clubs} / {10-Spades}
Felipe Ramos: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} / {5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} / {7-Clubs}

Maxwell Troy was all in on fifth with four cards to a wheel against Felipe Ramos' pair of nines and a flush draw. Ramos made two pair by seventh but poor Troy could only catch three consecutive bricks to send him spinning out of the tournament.

Violette Gets Chopped Up

David Benyamine: {x-}{x-} / {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} / {x-}
Cyndy Violette: {x-}{x-} / {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} / {x-}
John Racener: {x-}{x-} / {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} / {x-}

On fifth, Racener bet, Benyamine raised with Violette and Racener both calling. It was checked to Benyamine again on the sixth and he bet with both players calling once more. Finally all three checked seventh.

Benyamine showed {Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for an 8-6-4-2-A low, Racener flipped {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{7-Clubs} for aces and kings and Violette couldn't beat either and mucked. She's really short now.

Rodawig Wins Again

Eric Rodawig: {x-}{x-} / {9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds} / {x-}
Chris Tryba: {x-}{x-} / {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} / {x-}

Eric Rodawig raised and Chris Tryba made it two bets. Tryba continued to bet until sixth street where Rodawig took over the betting. Tryba called both there and on seventh only to be show his opponent's {9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} for trip nines.

Martin Busto

Jesse Martin: {3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} / {2-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts} / {x-}
Jon Turner: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} / {8-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} / {8-Clubs}

Jesse Martin was all in on fifth with a low draw against Jon Turner's rolled up eights. Martin picked up a pair of tens on sixth but Turner made quads on seventh so Martin needed to make a low to survive. He couldn't and mucked his hand leaving us with 20 left.
