McClung Mixing it up

With some chips already in the middle, the button was all in for what looked like 10,200. The action was on Chris McClung in early position who plopped down a pile of chips for a sizeable raise. The player next to him folded and the two remaining players turned over their hands.

McClung: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Button: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The button said “no hearts” before the {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} flop came down to give McClung an inside-straight draw. He then said “no nine” prior to the {5-Diamonds} on the turn which now made McClung open-ended. McClung chimed in with “a four will do” but the river was the {3-Spades} and the button doubled up.

Let There Be Light!

Nivel 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

For a reason unknown to us, the lights above every table in the Amazon room just got turned up making the room much brighter.

A large amount of groans and mumbling came from the players throughout the room at the unexpected change in luminosity coming from the bulbs.

Pilgrim Literally Shoves in his Chips

In a hand right before the break, and following a flop of {k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Dwyte Pilgrim checked action over to Cory Thompson who bet 7,000. Pilgrim then opted to shove all in. He literally pushed his stacks of chips totaling 44,000 over onto the middle of the table.

After the chips had spilled every direction possible Thompson tried to figure out the reasoning behind Pilgrim's move. Thompson speculated that Pilgrim was trying to represent a strong hand.

Eventually Thompson opted to call but found that his {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} was behind to Pilgrim's {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. The {2-Spades} on the turn gave Thompson some flush outs, but the {2-Clubs} on the river couldn't save him and he was sent to the rail.

It took awhile, but after Pilgrim's chips were all stacked back up they totaled 110,000.

A Disappearing Act?

Nivel 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Although we aren't even at the end of the end of level 12, we've already lost over 125 players and the field is down to less than 200 players. It seems as though most of the short stacks who limped through the bubble last night have either busted or built their stacks back up as the eliminations aren't coming nearly as quickly now.

Notable players that have busted so far include Barry Shulman, Matt Affleck, and Chad Batista.

Another Winner for Wang

Nivel 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Yueqi Wang continues to remain very active at her table. From middle position she raised to 2,800 and a player in late position went all in for a total of 9,300. Wang called and the hands were flipped.

Wang: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The flop of {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} gave both players a pair but kept the all-in player in the lead. The {5-Clubs} on the turn gave Wang a flush draw, and the river brought the {8-Spades} giving her trip eights and the win.

Wang had around 115,000 after the hand.
