Matusow Heating Up

Stud-8

Just a few hands ago Mike Matusow was down to his last 5,000, but after going on a heater he's back up to 45,000

Matusow had a short-stacked Thomas Koral all in on fourth street and their boards looked like this.

Matusow: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} / {k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds} / {a-Spades}
Koral: {x-}{3-} / {8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{x-} / {10-}

Matusow and Koral both had two pair on seventh street, but Matusow's aces and kings were superior to the tens and threes of Koral and he hit the rail. Matusow is certainly on fire to have built his stack up to where he is now and it will be interesting to see if he can keep it going.

Kings Hold for Ho

Nivel 14

Stud

Maria Ho: (X)(X) / {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs} / (X)
David Benyamine: (X)(X) / {3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades} / (X)
Opponent: (X)(X) / {2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

We picked up the action on fourth, when David Benyamine bet, one player folded, and Maria Ho called. Benyamine bet again on fifth, and Ho tanked a bit before calling. She tanked some more before calling a sixth-street bet. It went check-check after neither player's down card improved their hands. Ho tabled {k-}{q-} for the split kings that she'd held from the start. Benyamine showed {6-}{6-} for unimproved buried sixes, and Ho took the pot to stay in the running with 41,000. Benyamine was left with 88,000.

Finne Rivered

Stud

Catching the action on fourth street, we found Daniel Negreanu betting out only to have Timothy Finne two-bet. Chris Klodnicki folded before the fourth active player three-bet. Negreanu passed, but Finne made the call before putting a further 10,600 in on fifth street when his opponent was all in. Both player's boards ran out as follows.

Negreanu: (X)(X) / {4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} (folded on fourth)
Finne: (X)(X) / {2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} / (X)
Klodnicki: (X)(X) / {2-Diamonds}{7-Spades} (folded on fourth)
Opponent: (X)(X) / {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{K-Hearts} / (X)

With Finne tabling his {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} / {3-Diamonds}, he would unfortunately see the pot pushed to his opponent when his {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} improved when the {9-Diamonds} arrived on seventh. Finne is now down to roughly 80,000 in chips.

Fricke Gets Some Life, Matusow All But Out

Stud

Mike Matusow and Jimmy Fricke were both very short and Fricke got it all in on third street leaving Matusow with 5,000 behind and their boards running out like this.

Fricke: {10-}{10-} / {10-}{5-}{3-}{k-} / {2-}
Matusow: {A-}{Q-} / {A-}{2-}{j-}{j-} / {9-}

The two caught a bit of a sweat on sixth street when Matusow had two pair, but seventh street was a brick {9-} for Matusow and the pot went to Fricke who is back up to 54,000. Matusow only has 5,000 left in the tournament

Spades Bite Shaun

Nivel 13

Stud

Shaun Deeb: (X)(X) / {k-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} / (X)
Robert Williamson III: (X)(X) / {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} / (X)

Shaun Deeb check-called a bet on seventh to watch Robert Williamson III turn up {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} for a rivered spade flush. He could only look at his own board, showing three spades, and muck in disgust. Deeb was down to his last 9,000 after that hand and gone soon after. Williamson is up to 140,000.
