Madsen Collects Some Chips

Madsen: (x)(x) / {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{k-Hearts} / (x)
Opponent: (x)(x) / {7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} / (x)

Jeff Madsen has just won a nice sized pot after betting and getting called on every single street. After seventh street, Madsen flipped over the {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and his pair of aces was enough to take down the pot and put him at 6,100, amongst the early chip leaders.

Kravchenko Off to Slow Start

Alexander Kravchenko has entered the field late, but is off to a bit of a slow start. He recently completed with the {a-Clubs} showing, and was called by an opponent with the {7-Spades}. Kravchenko bet after receiving the {q-Hearts} on fourth street, and his opponent called with the {5-Diamonds}. Kravchenko again led after being dealt the {5-Hearts} on fifth, but this time his opponent raised with the {6-Diamonds}. Kravchenko tank-folded, and is now below 4,000 chips.

Bach Check-Calls Chips Away

With an {8-Diamonds} showing, David Bach check-called a bet from an opponent with the {4-Clubs} showing. On fourth street Bach was dealt the {3-Spades}, and check-called another bet from his opponent who also was dealt a three - the {3-Clubs}. On fifth street, Bach check-called yet another bet (sensing a trend yet?) after he was dealt the {7-Diamonds} and his opponent the {2-Hearts}.

On sixth street Bach was dealt the {a-Hearts}, and check-called yet another bet from his opponent who was dealt the suicide king - the {k-Hearts}. Both players received a down card, Bach check-called one final time, and his opponent rolled over {4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for kings and sixes. Bach mucked and is down to 3,650.

Bach - (x) (x) / {8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} / (x)
Opponent - {4-Hearts}{6-Clubs} / {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{k-Hearts} / {k-Spades}

Singer Off to Nice Start

Singer: (x)(x) / {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} / (x)
Opponent: (x)(x) / {q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs} / (x)

We caught the action on sixth street with Singer betting and his opponent calling the whole way. After another bet and call on seventh street, Singer revealed {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} in the hole for a nine high straight, and his opponent mucked. Singer is up to 5300.

Schwartz Stumbles

Ylon Schwartz completed with the {10-Hearts} showing, and was called by an opponent with the {j-Hearts}. On fourth street, Schwartz received the {q-Diamonds} and checked to his opponent who bet after being dealt the {7-Clubs}. Schwartz called. Schwartz again checked after receiving the {8-Clubs} on fifth street, his opponent was dealt the {a-Spades} and bet. Schwartz again called.

The {q-Hearts} on sixth street paired Schwartz, and for the first time he led out. His opponent raised with the {9-Diamonds}, and Schwartz called. The dealer then began to deal seventh street face up (it was the {2-Spades}) but stopped before the entire table could see the card. Only the reporters and an anonymous player in the one-seat saw the card, so play continued as usual. Schwartz check-called one more big bet, and mucked his hand when his opponent opened {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for aces-up.

Schwartz - (x) (x) / {10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{q-Hearts} / {2-Spades}
Opponent - {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} / {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} / {10-Diamonds}

Boyd Beats Billirakis

Boyd: (x)(x) / {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs} / (x)
Billirakis: (x)(x) / {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{a-Spades} / (x)

Dutch Boyd and Steve Billirakis are sitting next to each other to start the tournament, and the two of them just got involved in an early pot. The two players each put in 100 chips on every street until seventh, where they both checked. Boyd revealed {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{8-Spades}, and his pair of aces was good enough to take the pot and give him a nice boost to start the tournament.
