Deeb in the Danger Zone

Nivel 18

Limit Hold'em

With the stakes now 30,000/60,000 in the limit games, Shaun Deeb raised from under the gun, then Jason Lester three-bet from the hijack seat. It folded back around to Deeb who called.

The flop came {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Deeb checked, and Lester pushed out a bet. Deeb folded, preserving his last 45,000. Lester, meanwhile, has about 775,000.

Just Before Break...

Nivel 18

Limit Hold'em

Scott Seiver raised in middle position, and Jason Lester defended his big blind. The flop was {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, Lester checked, and Seiver bet. Lester called.

Lester check-called another bet after the {8-Hearts} turned, and check raised after the {a-Diamonds} fell on the river. Seiver put in three bets, and Lester called. Seiver opened up {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} for Broadway, Lester mucked, and Seiver won the pot.

2-7 Triple Draw

The Triple Draw round has proven to be Marco Johnson's undoing. In the last couple of hands before the break, he lost the rest of his stack to finish in 20th place.

First Johnson raised from UTG, got reraised by Josh Arieh on the button, then called. Johnson would take two cards, then one, then one, while Arieh would draw one then stand pat on the final two rounds. Johnson check-called bets from Arieh on all three draws.

Arieh showed {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}, Johnson {8-}{7-}{x-}{x-}{x-}, and Johnson was down to 52,000. Arieh, meanwhile, moved up to 2.02 million.

Soon after Johnson reraised back-and-forth with Brian Rast prior to the first draw enough to get the last of his chips in the middle. Johnson drew three at first and Rast two, then both players took one on each of the last two rounds.

Rast tabled {8-}{6-}{5-}{2-}, then turned over the {4-} he'd picked up on the end. Johnson showed {7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and squeezed his last card -- a {3-}.

Johnson is out, while Rast continues to sport a top five stack.

Mirzachi Rivers Lamb

Limit Hold'em

Just as the rest of the players were heading off on break, this hand was finishing up between Ben Lamb and Robert Mizrachi.

Action folded to Mizrachi in middle position and he raised. Ben Lamb reraised from the small blind and Mizrachi called. The flop came down {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Lamb bet out. Mizrachi raised and Lamb called.

The turn was the {2-Spades} and Mizrachi bet after Lamb checked. Lamb thought it over for a little bit and then made the call.

The river completed the board with the {K-Diamonds} and Lamb checked. Mizrachi bet right away and Lamb tanked. He eventually made the call.

Mizrachi showed the {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a rivered pair of kings after flopping a straight draw. Lamb thought he won for a moment and exposed his {A-}{Q-}, but then caught that Mizrachi had paired his kings on the river and angrily tossed his hand into the muck face down.
