After a player opened to 425 from under the gun, the player in the small blind called, as did Michael Sorosky in the big blind. The flop came {q-}{10-}{3-} rainbow and it was checked to Sorosky. He bet 775 and the player under the gun reraised all in. The player in the small blind got out of the way and Sorosky thought for a bit before making the call for less.

Sorosky: {a-}{q-}
Opponent: {k-}{q-}

The turn and river both bricked doubling Sorosky up to 11,400. After winning some small pots immediately afterward, he now has 14,200.

Charette Chips Up

On a flop that read {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, the player in the big blind checked to Simon Charette who led out for 1,100. The player in the hijack called and the big blind folded before Charette checked the turn of the {2-Diamonds}.

Charette check-raised after the hijack's bet of 1,100, which was more than enough to put the hijack player all in. The player elected to lay his hand down.

We're pleased to report that the official number for WSOP Event #56 is 3,389. Understandably, to be able to calculate the prize pool is going to take some time. It should be up very soon - stay tuned!

Wice Slices One Out

Alexander Wice has just managed to move up to more than 7,000 in chips after reducing the field size by one.

All the money was in the middle before the flop; the all-in player showed {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, ahead of Wice who show, ed {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}, but to the opponent's dismay, Wice improved to two pair on the flop and then filled up with another ace on the river. Shazam!
