O'Dea is King

Eoghan O'Dea wins a massive pot
Eoghan O'Dea wins a massive pot

Ben Lamb opened to 260,000 from the cutoff, Eoghan O'Dea three-bet to 720,000 from the small blind, and Lamb swiftly four-bet to 1.5 million. O'Dea tanked for a bit, staring down Lamb before moving all in for 6.135 million. Lamb called, and the hands were opened.

O'Dea: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Lamb: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

O'Dea was at risk, but he had Lamb crushed. The {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop was harmless, and so too was the {10-Hearts} on the turn. The crowd was on their feet in anticipation of the last card, and when the {q-Hearts} spiked on the river a chorus of "ohhhhhhhh's" showered the table. The queen didn't help Lamb though, and O'Dea shipped a monster double.

Esposito Exits

John Esposito - 32nd Place
John Esposito - 32nd Place

From under the gun, Lars Bonding raised to 255,000. Action then folded around to John Esposito in the hijack seat and he reraised all in for 1.68 million in chips. Play then moved around to Ryan Lenaghan in the small blind and he paused for a little bit. Lenaghan then made the call. Bonding folded and it was Esposito versus Lenaghan for this one.

Lenaghan held the {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and was up against Esposito's {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}. Esposito was the player at risk in the hand and fighting for his tournament life.

The flop came down {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and not much was there for Esposito. The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and now there was just one chance left for Esposito to hit one of the two remaining jacks in the deck.

The river card produced the {6-Diamonds} and that wasn't what Esposito needed. He failed to come from behind in this one and was eliminated in 32nd place for $242,636. Lenaghan increased to 16.17 million in chips.
