Shahriar Assareh Eliminated in 31st Place ($236,921)

Shahriar Assareh - 31st Place
Shahriar Assareh - 31st Place

Marc Ladouceur opened with a raise to 210,000 from the button, then Shahriar Assareh declared he was all in from the small blind. A count showed the reraise was for about 2.28 million total. Robert Corcione then said he was reraising all in over the top from the big blind, and Ladouceur tossed his cards.

Assareh: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Corcione: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Bad timing for Assareh, having run into the better pocket pair of Corcione. The community cards came {6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, and Assareh is out in 31st.

Niels van Alphen - 30th Place

Niels van Alphen's Main Event run has come to an end near the end of Day 6.

In his final hand, Cylus Watson started things with a raise to 215,000 from under the gun, and when it folded to van Alphen he pushed all in for 1.12 million. It folded back to Watson who called, showing {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Meanwhile, van Alphen was hoping to improve his {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and survive.

The board brought nothing useful for van Alphen, however, coming {5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, and he's out in 30th.

Salaburu Doubles Through Hellman

Erik Hellman opened to 200,000 only to have Robert Salaburu three-bet to 400,000 from right next door. It folded back to Hellman and he announced all in. Salaburu snap called for his tournament life with {K-Diamonds}{k-Spades} which was ahead of Hellman's {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

The board ran {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Salaburu's kings were able to hold, awarding him a double up to about 7,000,000 in chips.

Bronshtein Grabs a Few

Yuval Bronshtein raised to 230,000 from under the gun and got a call from Jeremy Ausmus on the button. The flop came {A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and both players checked. The turn brought the {9-Spades} and another check from Bronshtein. Ausmus bet 325,000 and Bronshtein called.

The river was the {J-Diamonds}. Bronshtein checked again, and when Ausmus bet 625,000 Bronshtein was there with the call. Ausmus showed {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}, but Bronshtein had him with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.

Gee Dodges a Heart to Double Through Strelitz

Steven Gee raised to 200,000 on the button and Daniel Strelitz defended from the big blind. The {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{A-Hearts} flop saw Gee call a bet of 325,000, before he called off for 1.965 million on the {2-Hearts} turn.

Showdown

Gee{A-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Strelitz{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Gee was ahead with aces, but he needed to dodge a heart on the river to survive. That's exactly what he did as the harmless {6-Spades} peeled off.
