Tran Doubles Through Custer

Nivel 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Michael Frederick raised to 150,000 from the button and then tank-folded when David Smith moved all in from the big blind.

One hand later, Jim Custer min-raised to 100,000 from the button, he had initially announced a raise to 75,000 but was then corrected by the dealer. David Tran made the call in the big blind and they both saw the {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{K-Diamonds} flop. Tran check-raised all in for 565,000 and Custer called off after having committed 225,000 for his continuation bet.

Tran: {8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Custer: {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Neither the {3-Spades} turn nor the {3-Diamonds} river were cards that Custer wanted to see and the next short stacked player in the showdown holds up. Tran used the little heater by raising the small blind and stealing the big blind and antes.

Smith Survives

David Smith

David Smith was left pretty short and opened shoved. It got to big blind Dan Heimiller who did the math and tried to find a reason to call eventually asking is smith had deuce, three. Heimiller showed {4-Clubs}{2-Spades} and folded.

On the next hand Smith shoved again and small blind Heimiller shoved to isolate and big blind wise duly folded.

Heimiller had found {a-Clubs}{2-Spades} but his timing was off as Smith had the legitimate {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Smith had his double.

Very soon after Smith opened for 130,000 and Dennis Phillips moved all in. Back to Smith who gave it a minute and folded his hand.

Smith Versus Maas

Nivel 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

We have had three out of four hands between Donald Maas and David Smith. First Maas opened to 125,000 and called the all in of Smith for 525,000 with {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} for about one third of his stack. He lost the flip against {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} on the {10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} board.

In the next hand Doc Barry won the blinds and antes with a raise to 125,000 from early position. Then Maas limped first to act and Smith raised to 205,000, only Maas called. On the {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop, Smith bet 500,000 and called off the 880,000 all in from his opponent with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. Maas turned over {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the flopped nuts and the {A-Spades} turn would have been his money card anyways. The {4-Diamonds} river completed the board and Smith had less than two big blinds left.

Last but not least, one hand later, Smith moved all in for 75,000 with {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Maas called in the big blind with {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}. The {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop delivered one of three aces in the deck and the remaining jack would not show up. Instead the {Q-Hearts} turn and {5-Clubs} river completed the board and we are still ten handed.

Wise Doubles

Nivel 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Doc Barry and Dan Heimiller made the call. Anthony Wise then moved all in and the blinds and Barry folded.
Heimiller couldn’t quite make up his mind what he wanted to do but then said he wanted to make a pot of it and made the call.

Heimiller {k-Spades}{9-Spades}

Wise {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The cards ran out {2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{j-Spades}.

Wise hit his set on the flop but Heimeiller had a flush draw. The turn gave him the flush but Wise had the unbeatable boat.

Frederick And Heimiller Get Some

Nivel 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Dennis Phillips just above min raised and then folded to the three-bet of David Vida to 300,000. Vida showed him and the rest of the table the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

Michael Frederick raised to 120,000 and Vida called in the cutoff to see the {8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop. Frederick continued for 150000 and was called, he then shoved the {6-Spades} turn for 550,000 and that was enough to rake in the chips.

Phillips raised to 135,000 from early position and chip leader Dan Heimiller called in the cutoff. On the {5-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop, Phillips tried to steal the pot with a continuation bet of 225,000 but folded when Heimiller raised it up to 500,000. Phillips threw the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} towards the middle of the table.
