Brenes Extends Lead

Nivel 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Humberto Brenes limped his button and Phil Tom made it 3,200 to go. Brenes called to see a flop of {5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Tom bet 2,000 and Brenes called.

The turn was the {a-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {Q-Clubs} finish off the board. Both checked again and Tom flashed {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for jack-high. Brenes showed {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a pair of eights and won the pot. He now has about 68,000 to Tom's 20,000.

Brenes Doubles Into Lead

Nivel 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Picking up with the action on the flop of {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, Phil Tom fired out a bet of 3,000. Humberto Brenes made it 8,000 to go and Tom called. The {8-Clubs} hit the felt on fourth street and Tom checked. Brenes moved all in for his last 11,225 and Tom called.

Tom: {K-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Brenes: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

Brenes flopped top two pair and was pushed his double up after the {8-Hearts} completed the board on the river. He's now sitting in a slight lead with 45,000 to Tom's 38,000.

Benger Doubles Duong

Nivel 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Jack Duong limped the button and Griffin Benger announced an all in bet. Duong called for his tournament life of 14,375 and the hands were turned over.

Benger: {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Duong: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Benger jumped into the lead on the flop, pairing his king with {Q-Spades}{A-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. He kept the lead with the {6-Clubs} on the turn, and needed to dodge a ten or a jack on the final card in order to clinch the match. Alas, the river brought the {10-Spades} and gave Duong a set of tens for the double up. Benger's stack is now down to about 58,000, but he still holds the lead in the match.
