Taking A Shower

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

2012 WSOP Bracelet Winner Brent Hanks has had his day end rather early.

No details on exactly how it all went so bad, just a comment from Brent to the PokerNews Live Reporting Team on the way out the door.

"Yeah, we took a shower with the whole table," he said with a straight face.

Queen Raises River

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Alex Queen opened for a raise to 125 in the hijack and was called by both blinds. On the {5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, the small blind bet out 200, the big blind folded, and Queen called. The small blind check-called 500 from Queen on the {3-Diamonds} turn, and a {j-Clubs} hit the river. The small blind fired out 700, and Queen raised to 1,900.

The small blind called, and Queen showed {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a turned flush.

Also, Jonathan Tamayo is now seated next to Queen and Antonio Esfandiari just took a seat in the Brasilia as well.

Overflow

With the field now up and over 1,700 and counting, there are also tables running in the Pavilion Room. We spotted these pros getting it on in there:

Getting The Best Of It

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante
Erick Lindgren
Erick Lindgren

Erick Lindgren seems to be getting the most out of a tough table draw that includes Thayer Rasmussen and Steve Gross.

The two-time WSOP Bracelet Winner has earned a double up early on and now has close to 7k.

It wasn't one big hand, however, as Lindgren told the PokerNews Live Reporting Team he's simply had "a bunch of winners so far."

Jones Doubles After Rough Turn

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Dennis Jones got all in with {a-}{a-} on an ace-high flop with two clubs. His opponent had {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and turned a flush, but Jones managed to find a pair on the board on the river to double up.

Liebert Gets a Nice River

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Kathy Liebert bet 500 after an ace on the river made the board {4-}{5-}{4-}{8-}{a-}. Her opponent called, and Liebert showed {a-}{k-} to best the {a-}{q-} of her opponent.

Meanwhile, Matt Salsberg got seated nearby.

Mezheritsky Making It Work

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Coming off a fifth-place finish at the 2014 WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Main Event for $213,650, Vladislav Mezheritsky has some big plans for the WSOP.

Here in this latest $1k he's certainly off to a good start. Mezheritsky managed to turn {10-Spades}{8-Spades} into a flush over flush over top pair situation to drag a rather big pot and is now sitting on better than 8,000 chips.

Although, it doesn't appear it will be an easy day for him, as Byron Kaverman and his $3.1 million in live tournament earnings, including a 21st-place finish for $17,357 in that very same Borgata main, is sitting to his right.

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Mike Sowers seems to have lost most of his chips in the early going here. Meanwhile, Annette Obrestad is a bit above the starting stack.
