Vigil Vanquishes Vang

Nivel 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

We came upon Table 15 with Minnesotan Kou Vang counting down his stack to double up Darin Vigil, who had {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} in front of him on a board of {2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Vigil had Vang slightly covered, and he collected Vang's stack. According to Vigil, Vang had {a-}{k-} and the two were all in preflop.

The Tran Train

Nivel 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Theo Tran is suddenly running very good and sitting on a pile of chips.

When a shorty open shoved for 5,750, Tran picked up {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} on the button and was the only one who called. His opponent held {a-Hearts}{8-Spades} and even moved ahead when the {a-Diamonds} came in the window. Unfortunately for him, the rest of the flop included the {9-Hearts} and {7-Spades} giving Tran a set.

It held on the {k-Diamonds} turn and {k-Clubs} river.

Maridu Hollywooding

Nivel 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Maria Mayrinck has a big stack in front of her courtesy of The Notebook and Alpha Dog director Nick Cassavetes.

The Hollywood hotshot missed all his backdoor draws against her flopped set of nines and Mayrinck sent him packing. Since then she says she's been grinding it up throughout the day and is feeling rather confident.

She also said she didn't cry while watching the The Notebook, a tearjerker chick-flick based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, making her one of the few people in the room who can truly claim that.

Williams Makes the Call

Nivel 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

David Williams opened for 850 in middle position and saw the player to his left shove all in for about 6,500 more. Action folded back to Williams, who tanked for about a minute and muttered a few things we couldn't hear before tossing in a call.

Williams: {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The flop ended the drama: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, meaning Williams could only lose to runner-runner. The {9-Hearts} turn officially ended things.

Keating Cleans Up

Nivel 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Alex Keating won a decent pot, busted a player and had to wait three hands to stack his chips.

After a check from his heads up opponent, he shipped it in on a ten-high flop.

According to Keating, the player asked him if he wanted him to call. Keating said if you have a pair you're good and the player made the call with {a-}{k-}. Keating had {a-}{10-} and after the board bricked out, he sent the player home.

The floor then handed Keating a three hand penalty for discussing his hand during action. By the time he came back to the table it was breaking.
