Butler Busts

Nivel 11 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

Catching the action on sixth street we found Ashly Butler betting out 2,000 and Oxana Cummings calling before Butler bet all in on seventh for his last 1,400 with Cummings making the call.

Butler: {X-}{X-} / {3-Spades}{A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} / {X-}
Cummings: {X-}{X-} / {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts} / {X-}

Butler tabled his {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{X-}, but it would be Cummings' {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} that would see her pushed the pot and send Butler to the rail.

Kravchenko Gives Up

Nivel 11 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

Alex Kravchenko completed with {9-Spades} and got raised by Cyndy Violette, holding the {3-Hearts}. Kravchenko paired up right away and fired a double bet, while Violette was content to call down to sixth street.

Violette: {x-}{x-}/{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Kravchenko: {x-}{x-}/{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

Kravchenko checked sixth, as Violette had picked up a nice board as well. He then folded to Violette's bet.

At another table, Robert Mizrachi picked up a pair of aces and got it all in on an early street. He improved to two pair on the river, but he didn't need it since his opponent had not improved her kings.

Dvorkis Nuts?

Nivel 11 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

"You sound nuts!" stated Oxana Cummings.

"I'm not nuts, this is my normal speaking voice" responded Alan Dvorkis — or Alan Boston as he is more widely known.

Located in the one seat, Cummings' chip stack is built in a protruding fashion which has been getting in the way of the dealer's pitch to Dvorkis (who is in the two seat) and has caused a few misdeals already.

Dvorkis kindly asked Cummings to move it, and when another player chirped in she finally did to potentially prevent any further misdeals.

Kenney Raises Chidwick

Nivel 11 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

Bryn Kenney completed from late position with {6-Diamonds} and was raised by Stephen Chidwick, showing the {q-Clubs}. Kenney called, and he called again after catching {4-Spades} against Chidwick's {3-Diamonds}. On fifth, Kenney caught {2-Spades} against Chidwick's {4-Diamonds} and check-raised. Chidwick laid his hand down.

Expect many more battles between these top pros as long as they are seated next to each other.

Welcome back to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and the 2014 World Series of Poker for Day 2 of Event #34: $1,500 Seven-Card Stud.

Yesterday evening saw 345 players take to the felt to create a $465,750 prize pool that will see the top 40 players earn a guaranteed $2,524 payday. Coming back today, the tournament is only 20 players shy from reaching the money as just 60 players managed to bag and tag early this morning.

One of those players is two-time WSOP bracelet winner Steve Sung who topped the day as chip leader with an amassed 69,000-chip stack ahead of William Thompson (67,500), Bryan Campanello (63,300), and Brian Hastings (58,500). However there are still many notables remaining in the field with the likes of Bryn Kenney, Cyndy Violette, Marcel Luske, Daniel Negreanu, Stephen Chidwick, Phil Laak, Robert Mizrachi, and Barry Greenstein all still in contention and eyeing the $118,785 first prize.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand from 2:00 p.m. (PDT) to provide extensive live updates throughout the day as we look to play down into the money before potentially reaching the Event #34 final table. Stay tuned right here to PokerNews.com for all the news on the 2014 World Series of Poker!
