Michael Tabarelli Eliminated in 13th Place ($21,031)

Nivel 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Michael Tabarelli - 13th place
Michael Tabarelli - 13th place

Joseph Leung opened to 24,000 from under the gun and Michael Tabarelli three-bet the button to 90,000. Once the action was back on Leung, he announced he was all in and Tabarelli deliberated for a few moments before making the call for his 260,000 total.

Tabarelli: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Leung: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

The flop of {J-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} furthered Leung's advantage before the {7-Clubs} and {3-Spades} on the turn and river improved Leung to quads as Tabarelli hit the rail in 13th place for a $21,031 payday.

Nivel 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

In a battle of the blinds with the board reading {J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{K-Spades}{K-Clubs}, Michael Drummond bet 28,000 from the small blind. David "Bakes" Baker raised to 62,000 in the big blind, Drummong called and the {A-Diamonds} river completed the board. Drummond came out swinging with 122,000 and Baker called.

Drummmond tabled {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for kingss full of aces, Baker mucked and Drummong collected the pot.

Shortly thereafter Baker raised to 42,000 in the cutoff, Drummond reraised to effectively 62,000 from the big blind and Baker called all in.

Drummond: {A-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Baker: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Early Win for Schmidt

Nivel 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Phil Laak ran into the tournament area and quickly took a seat before his hand could be mucked. Laak min-raised to 24,000 and both Ryan Schmidt and Richard Ashby made the call.

The dealer spread a {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} flop and it would be a 41,000-chip bet from Schmidt that would see him capture the pot once Ashby and Laak mucked.

Welcome back to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and the 2014 World Series of Poker for Day 3 of Event #42: $5,000 Six-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha!

Just two days ago 452 players took to the felt, and now all that is left is just 13 players eyeing the third Pot-Limit Omaha WSOP bracelet of the series and the $541,747 first prize.

The overwhelming chip leader is Phil Laak who won two monster three-way pots late in Day 2 to see his chip stack sky rocket. The first saw him hold with bottom two-pair before the second one launched him over 1 million in chips when his overpair and flush draw held against a Fernando Brunca's full wrap and Phil Galfond's semi-wrap.

Once the day ended, Laak had amassed an impressive 1,087,000-chip stack to sit well ahead of Canadians Joseph Leung (818,000) and Sorel Mizzi (735,000). Also in contention are WSOP bracelet winners Richard "Chufty" Ashby (426,000), Kory Kilpatrick (333,000) and David "Bakes" Baker (308,000).

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand when play recommences at 1:00 p.m. (PDT) as we provide extensive live updates throughout the day of every pot, re-pot and full wrap as we write the path of the Event #42 Champion!
