Arieh Making Moves

Josh Arieh

No-Limit Hold'em

Josh Arieh checked the turn with the board reading {3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and about 25,000 in the middle. Chris Bell fired 8,000 from the button but was met with a check-raise as Arieh made it 26,000.

Bell, with less than a starting stack left behind, let it go.

Seiver and Schemelev Chop Up Chidwick

Nivel 7

Stud 8

Scott Seiver: {x-}{x-} / {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} / {x-}
Stephen Chidwick: {x-}{x-} / {5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Spades} / {x-}
Vladimir Schemelev: {x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Clubs} / {x-}

Schemelev checked on fourth street, Seiver tossed out a bet, and Chidwick called. Schemelev check-raised, and both Seiver and Chidwick called. Schemelev led out on fifth street, both of his opponents called, and the Russian fired out another bet on sixth after Chidwick checked with a pair of fives. Again, his two opponents called.

All three players checked on seventh, and Chidwick announced that he had "fives up." Schemelev showed the {2-Clubs} for trip deuces, Seiver tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for a low, and Chidwick was chopped.

Some Stud 8 Action

Nivel 7

Stud 8

We picked up the action on fifth street when Phil Ivey bet 5,000 and both Gary Benson and John Monnette called. The action repeated itself on sixth, and Ivey bet 5,000 after Monnette checked on seventh. Benson folded and Monnette made a reluctant call.

Ivey: {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} / {2-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Benson: [xxx] / {2-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{j-Clubs} / {x-}fold
Monnette" {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} / {j-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} / {6-Diamonds}

"Seven-high straight," joked Ivey, who only had a low. That meant Monnette's tens were good for the high and the two chopped it up.

It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on their respective counts. Both players are up from the last time we checked in with them.

Mizrachi Scoops

Nivel 7

Stud 8

Robert Mizrachi: {x-}{x-} / {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} / {x-}
Ismael Bojang: {x-}{x-} / {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs} / {x-}
Frank Kasella: {x-}{x-} / {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Kassela raised after a Bojang bet and Mizrachi call on fifth. Bojang made it three bets and after Mizrachi called again, Kassella made it four. Both players called, but after Bojang checked sixth, Mizrachi led out. Kassela called, but when Bojang raised and Mizrachi made it three bets, he had to think for a minute.

"I just can't see how I'm beat in both spots," he said. Bojang said something to Mizrachi at this point, which Kassela took offense to before folding.

"What? Are you guys working together on the hand?" he asked. Both apologized and Mizrachi's bet was called on the river as he showed {3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to scoop with a monster Stud 8 hand after Bojang mucked.

Ashton Stays Alive

Nivel 7

Limit Hold'em

Phil Ivey raised and Matthew Ashton, who was down to very few chips, tanked for quite a while before three-betting from the small blind. Ivey called and the flop brought {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}.

Ashton bet, Ivey called and on the turn, the {10-Spades} hit. The river brought out the {J-Clubs} and Ashton checked, after which Ivey checked behind.

Ashton showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} - enough to rake in this pot - but the defending champ is far from being out of trouble.
