More for Kassela

Nivel 18

Razz

James Obst completed with a {5-} and Frank Kassela called with his {7-}. Obst then check-called a bet on fourth before both players checked fifth. On sixth, Obst bet, Kassela called, and the both players checked seventh.

Obst: {x-}{x-} / {5-}{4-}{4-}{3-} / {x-}
Kassela: {7-}{5-}{q-}{5-} / {6-}{4-}{2-}

Kassela ended with a 7-6-5-4-2 low, and it was good as Obst mucked.

Razz

Scott Seiver completed with a {3-} and then called when Todd Brunson raised with a {3-} of his own. Seiver proceeded to call bets from Brunson on every street until the later was all in for his last 50,000 on seventh street.

Seiver: {3-}{j-}{9-}{8-} / {4-}{5-}{6-}
Brunson: {3-}{7-}{j-}{a-} / {2-}{7-}{q-}

Brunson ended up with a J-7-3-2-A low, but it was no good as Seiver had made an 8-6-5-4-3 low. Brunson took home $115,447 for his 11th-place finish.

Kessler on the Rise

Nivel 18

Omaha 8

James Obst raised in the hijack, Allen Kessler and Jesse Martin called out of the blinds, and the flop fell {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Kessler led out, Martin folded, and Obst raised. Kessler reraised, Obst called, and the turn was the {8-Diamonds}.

Obst called a bet from Kessler, then another on the river ({5-Diamonds}), and Kessler showed {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for the nut low and a full house.

Zhou Scoops

Nivel 18

Omaha 8

Jesse Martin raised from under the gun, Chun Lei Zhou called out of the small blind, and Allen Kessler defended his big blind. The flop fell {3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, Zhou led out, and only Martin called.

The turn was the {j-Clubs}, Zhou fired out another bet, and Martin called. Martin called one last bet on the river ({9-Spades}), then mucked when Zhou showed {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} for kings full of nines.

Hennigan Sniffs Out the Bluff

Nivel 18

Stud

John Hennigan completed with the {8-Clubs} and Brandon Shack-Harris called with an eight of his own. Both players proceeded to check fourth and then Shack-Harris called a bet on fifth. That action repeated itself on sixth, and then Hennigan tossed out a bet on seventh. Shack-Harris raised it, and Hennigan tanked for a bit before making the call.

Hennigan: {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades} / {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Shack-Harris: {8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{k-Spades} / {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Shack-Harris had essentially bluffed with his eights, and Hennigan sniffed it out as his eights and fives proved best.

Matt Glantz Eliminated in 12th Place ($99,388)

No-Limit Hold'em

Chun Lei "samrostan" Zhou opened for 35,000 under the gun and Matt Glantz three-bet all in for 100,000 or so from the small blind. The big folded and Zhou wasted little time in making the call.

Zhou: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Glantz: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Glantz was in trouble, and his best bet to survive was to catch an ace. That didn't happen on the {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop, nor did it come on the {6-Diamonds} turn. An ace and an ace only would save Glantz on the river, but it was not meant to be as the {K-Clubs} blanked.

Glantz, who had made the final table of this event two times in the past, was denied his record third appearance and had to settle for 12th place and a $99,388 consolation prize.

The action checked to Kessler after the first draw, and he bet. Only Glantz called, and the three-time $50,000 Poker Players' Championship finalist check-called another bet after the second draw.

Both players checked after the third.

"Eighty-seven," Glantz announced.

Kessler fanned {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and dragged the pot.
