Lebron Soaring

Nivel 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Following a raise to 1,700, Rafael Lebron flatted in middle position before two more players called; one of which was Aaron Jones. The action sat with the big blind Christopher Annouza, and he moved all in for 26,100 to force a fold from the initial raiser before Lebron called and the other two players folded.

Annouza: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Lebron: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Annouza was sent to the rail as Lebron soared to over 80,000 in chips.

Carson Happy With His Start

Nivel 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Gregg Carson has made a nice start to the day and called us over to make sure PokerNews had his new chip count.

The player sat next to him joked that he had sucked out on a player but what happened was he bust a player with {a-}{a-} versus {10-}{10-}.

Kelly Triples

Nivel 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Dan Kelly got down to his last 5,500 and shipped it in. He got one caller with only about 5,500 behind and then a third player bet enough to put him in. He called and Kelly was the only one without a pair as his opponents rolled over {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} respectively.

Kelly needed some serious help with {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, but got it on the {j-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Spades}{a-Diamonds} board.

Winzeler Loses

Nivel 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

On a baord of {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts} with what appeared to be around 17,000 in the middle, Hanz Winzeler checked over to his opponent who bet out 7,000.

Winzeler deliberated for a few moments and then made the call only to be shown his opponent's {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Winzeler mucked and saw his stack slip to roughly 76,000 in chips.

New Day, New Strategy for Calamusa

Nivel 10 : 400/800, 100 ante
Pierre Calamusa
Pierre Calamusa

Chip leader Pierre Calamusa called his opponent’s bet on the turn and then led out for 3,800 on a river that brought some straight draws in. His opponent looked pretty sceptical but after some hesitation made the call. Calamusa showed him {q-Spades}{9-Spades} for the revered straight, received a, “Nice hand.” and the pot. “You said you were trying a new strategy.” Calamusa’s neighbour said. “Yeah, hitting straights” he replied.

On the next hand Calamusa raised to 1,700 and was called by the blinds. They checked it down to the river of a board reading {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Calamus bet 2,500 and the big blind reached for calling chips but thought better of it and mucked his hand.

The strategy seems to be working so far.
