"That Could've Been Worse"

Nivel 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Tony Gregg
Tony Gregg

Tony Gregg limped in from the cutoff, Connor Drinan called on his left, Bill Klein completed from the small blind, and Erick Lindgren checked in the big blind.

The flop fell {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{k-Spades}, and the action checked to Gregg. He tossed out 215,000, only Drinan called, and the turn was the {10-Clubs}. Both players checked.

The river was the {5-Clubs}, and Gregg knuckled again. Drinan fired out 275,000, and Gregg tanked for around 90 seconds before reaching for chips. He wasn't calling, however, rather he check-raised to 960,000.

This sent Drinan into the tank, and after over two minutes, he called.

Gregg turned over {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a pair of jacks, but it was no good against Drinan's {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for a pair of kings.

Despite losing the hand, Gregg broke out into a big smile.

"That could've been worse!" he said.

Colman Drags Massive Pot, Takes Chip Lead

Nivel 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Daniel Colman
Daniel Colman

Action folded to Sam Trickett on the button and he made it 200,000 to go. Noah Schwartz flatted the small blind and Daniel Colman thought for a moment in the big blind. Colman came out with a three-bet to 650,000 and Trickett quickly called. Schwartz came along for the party as well.

The three saw a {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop hit the felt and Schwartz checked. Colman rapped the table back, allowing Trickett to lead at the pot for 900,000. After about 30 seconds, Schwartz reached for chips and cut out a call. Colman also dipped into his stack and flatted to the turn.

The dealer produced the {9-Clubs} on fourth street, putting four to a straight on the board. Schwartz checked for a second time, allowing Colman to fire into the pot. Colman moved 2.7 million forward, prompting an eye roll and a fold from Trickett. Schwartz, however, stuck around.

The {4-Diamonds} fell on the river and Schwartz checked for a third time. Colman dropped out 1 million in chips and Schwartz went deep into the tank. After about two minutes, Schwartz kicked his cards in and Colman was awarded the massive pot.

Salomon Busts Merson

Nivel 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Greg Merson
Greg Merson

Greg Merson just bluffed his way out of the 2014 $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop.

On the turn of the {Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades} board, Rick Salomon checked, and Merson bet 525,000. Salomon quickly called, and the river was the {8-Spades}. After Salomon checked, Merson moved all in for 1.275 million. After tanking for a bit, Salomon made the call with the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for top pair of queens. Merson showed the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} for just ace high and was eliminated.

Negreanu Moves All In

Nivel 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Doug Polk opened for 215,000 under the gun and Daniel Negreanu three-bet to 500,000 from the button. Not to be outdone, Polk pushed back with a four-bet to 1.23 million, and Negreanu responded by moving all in for 4.34 million. Polk insta-folded and Negreanu took down the pot.

A Check-Raise from Ivey

Nivel 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Scott Seiver raised to 190,000 under the gun and Phil Ivey called from the big blind to see the {6-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. Ivey checked, Seiver continued for 210,000, and Ivey woke up with a check-raise to 700,000. Seiver gave it some thought, and then he gave it up.

Another Pot For Antonio

Nivel 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Isaac Haxton raised from the cutoff to 180,000 and Antonio Esfandiari three-bet from the button to 415,000. The action folded back to Haxton who gave it some thought before making the call.

The flop came down {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Haxton checked to Esfandiari who bet 395,000. Haxton tanked for bit and folded.

The Doc is Out of Business

Nivel 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
David Sands
David Sands

Phil Ivey opened the action for 185,000 from the hijack only to have David "Doc" Sands three-bet all in for 1.325 million from the button. Doug Polk then moved all in over the top from the small blind, which inspired Ivey to fold.

Polk: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Sands: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

It was a bad spot for Sands, and the {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop provided little help. The {A-Clubs} turn actually left Sands drawing dead, and after the {4-Hearts} was put out on the river for good measure, Sands exited the tournament in 26th place.
