Welch Busts One

Nivel 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Ryan Welch opened from the hijack and called after Dorothy Wakamiya moved all in from the small blind.

Welch: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Wakamiya: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

The {q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop gave Wakamiya the flush draw, but the {q-Clubs} turn and {9-Diamonds} river couldn't give her anything she was looking for and Welch took the last of her chips.

Walthaus Doubles Back

Nivel 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Jorn Walthaus was on the final table of the Hollywood Poker Open Main Event a few days ago and started Day 2 here with about 16,000 in chips. After losing half of the stack early on, he just doubled up again for 7,825 with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} versus {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. The {6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} board saw him improve on the turn, and the Dutchman is still in it to win it.

Stausholm Did Not Report

Nivel 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Martin Stausholm was listed as "DID NOT REPORT" but had 34,000 in chips. That was reduced to a shadow of the stack, though, after he four-bet shoved with {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and got called by a player at risk for his last 21,425 with {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}. The board ran out {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, and Stausholm is now short.

Epparla Peeled

Nivel 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Ramana Epparla was among the bigger stacks coming back into the Amazon purple section and he has just lost more than half his stack with pocket kings against the pocket aces of Orlando Romero.

David Hong opened to 1,200 from middle position and John Hennigan three-bet to 2,800 from the big blind. Hong called and the flop came {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Hennigan led for 2,500 and Hong folded.

Here are a few of the notables who have made it through and have taken their seats here on Day 2.

Kamutzki Knocks Out Two, Neuville Also Gone

Nivel 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Heinz Kamutzki has already knocked out two short stacks on his table.

Meanwhile Pierre Neuville played exactly one hand here on Day 2. The Belgian ran with pocket tens and met an opponent holding queens, and soon he hit the rail after an eventless board.
