Alaei Calls Smith

Nivel 4 : 150/300, 0 ante
Daniel Alaei ran into Dan Smith's wheel.
Daniel Alaei ran into Dan Smith's wheel.

Dan Smith bet 4,000 on the turn from the big blind, and one opponent folded while Daniel Alaei called on the {2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} board. The {10-Clubs} hit the river, and Smith bet 9,000. Alaei thought for roughly a minute before splashing in a call, and Smith showed {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for a wheel.

Despite the setback, defending champion Alaei has a nice early stack.

Campanello Takes Doozy of a Beat

Nivel 4 : 150/300, 0 ante

Bryan Campanello bet 2,700 on fourth street in a battle of the blinds, and James Popp called with the board reading {8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Campanello bet 6,550 when the board paired with the {8-Clubs}. Popp tossed out 20,000, and Campanello pushed all in.

Saying he may have given Campanello a vicious beat, Popp called, showing {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for quads. Sure enough, Campanello revealed {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for jacks full before exiting the tournament.

Mizrachi Pays Off Nassif; Racener's Royal

Nivel 4 : 150/300, 0 ante

Gabriel Nassif bet 5,000 on an {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts} board, and Robert Mizrachi, who had checked out of the blinds, made the call. Nassif showed {k-}{k-} and took the pot with top set.

At another table, John Racener apparently busted a player who held quad tens when Racener made a royal flush, a bystander said. Still, Racener is barely above the starting stack.
