More From Pavilion

Nivel 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

Vanessa Selbst, fresh off her 3rd WSOP bracelet yesterday, highlights the players from the Black and Gold sections of the Pavilion Room.

Standing on the rail waiting to get into the action are Shaun Deeb, Tony Dunst, and Jimmy Fricke. The number of entrants is above 5,000. Not that it's going to happen but there is a small chance that we could top the record set in the 2006 Main Event won by Jamie Gold. That tournament had 8,773 entrants.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Millionaire Maker Set to Start

Benny Chen
Benny Chen

The biggest turnout outside of the Main Event last year was the Millionaire Maker that saw Benny Chen make his way through 6,343 entrants to win a staggering $1,198,780. With over 4,500 players registered for today's Millionaire Maker another huge prize pool is expected and 1st place is guaranteed to take home seven figures. Others who made a deep run in this event last year include Dan Kelly (5th - $302,104) and Chris Hunichen (6th - $229,575).

There are two separate flights for this event with Day 1a taking place in moments and the second flight, Day 1b, starting at 5 p.m. local time. If players are eliminated in the first flight, they can fire a second bullet in the later session. There are nine levels scheduled for each flight and this event is a three day event. Those that make it through Day 1 will return to play an additional 10 levels tomorrow. On Monday they will play down until we have our millionaire.

Cards will be in the air shortly. PokerNews will be here for all the action so check back in often.
