Breaking Into the Amazon

Nivel 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Registration is still open and we are up to 7,931 entries now, topping the field of 2013 by more than 1,500 players so far. The Pavilion has three sections with tables from the second starting flight in the black, white and black sections. However, the floor is trying to move them as soon as possible into the Amazon room when they see fit.

Madsen Runs Into Aces

Nivel 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Jeff Madsen is down to less than seven big blinds after running into aces a few moments ago.

Madsen, who was on the button, three-bet all in for 3,400 over the top of a late position raise and was called by the small blind. The initial raiser folded, Madsen turned over {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and was way behind the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} of his opponent.

The {4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{Q-Spades} flop gave Madsen outs to an inside straight draw, but the {6-Spades} turn and {2-Diamonds} river were no help to him and he handed over 2,125 of his already relatively short stack.

Marvin Not So Marvellous

Nivel 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

While walking by the table of Mohsin Charania, he pointed towards me and said that Marvin Rettenmaier just busted. The text read something like "I got nit rolled so bad to bust" and the chair next to Joe Cada was indeed empty.

Laak Dons Huge Skiing Goggles

Nivel 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

In 2008, Phil Laak started his WSOP Main Event adventure dressed as an old man, complete with a rubber mask, which prompted a change in the rules that states player cannot wear a mask at the tables. While not a mask as such, Laak is today sporting a huge pair of ski goggles that cover the top half of his head. We weren't sure that it was Laak at first but quickly realized nobody else in poker would wear such a thing!

James Woods Eliminated

Nivel 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

We didn't catch the action but another player on the table told us that James Woods got it in on a king high turn with {K-}{J-} and the opponent called with {A-}{K-} for the better kicker.

Henderson Turns It Around

Nivel 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

Aaron Henderson turned the miserable start into a great one. He first doubled up, then doubled with pocket kings against queens. Last but not least he busted a player with {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} after spiking top pair on a {7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop and turning the flush with the {A-Diamonds}.

Smith and Shorr Late Reg.

Nivel 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

Shannon Shorr and Dan Smith have both taken advantage of the late registration and are taking their seats as we speak.

Shorr played Day 1a and busted so is hopping right back into the action while Dan Smith is looking for his second cash of the 2014 WSOP having finished in the money in the $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha earlier this week.
