Break It Up

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Levels one and two are in the bag and that means it is time to head out of the tournament area for a scheduled 20-minute break. We will return around 7:30 p.m. so rejoin us then.

Among the 7,569 entrants are these fine fellows.

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Byron Kaverman started the final hand in his Millionaire Maker 1B flight with 2,400 and three-bet an open raise and call to 450. The hijack four-bet and then called his reshove with pocket kings. Kaverman only had {A-}{K-} and was unable to improve.

Potential For Fireworks on Table 274

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Head over to Yellow 274 if you want see two of poker's big guns in action. In Seat 1 is the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Joe Cada and to his direct left is "Mad" Marvin Rettenmaier, who is not averse to getting his stack into the middle if he feels the need arises.

Tamer Tamed

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Tamer Kamel has been eliminated in level two. Michael Gathy was so kind to fill is in that there was a three-way flop with ace high and two clubs that Kamel called for 825 and then got it in on the {8-} turn with {A-}{J-}. His opponent had flopped two pair with {A-}{2-} and the river bricked for the Brit.

Waiting For The Waves

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

We noticed Jamie Kerstetter approaching her tournament table in the Pavilion room and she was surprised not to be allowed to sit down just yet. Why? Because there are simply so many players in that they are having the currently registering entrants starting at level two and three. In Kerstetter's case, she will be in action as of 7.30 p.m. when level three kicks off.

Kings Are Kind to Makhija

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Amit Makhija has started fast out of the blocks here on Day 1b of the Millionaire Maker, getting dealt pocket kings in a four-bet pot will do that to a man.

From what we could gather, Makhija's now-busted opponent opened with a raise, Makhija three-bet with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and his opponent four-bet jammed all-in for 2,600. Makhija looked pained in his decision making but decided kings were too strong to lay down and he called, discovering he was ahead of the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}.

By the river the board read {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{J-Hearts}, Makhija's kings held and he is now one of the chip leaders early on here.

A Few More Additions

Nivel 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

There is always that awkward moment when you walk through huge tournament areas, remember the face but can't put the name to it. Usually a quick question with a smile helps and then memory kicks in. Micah Raskin had a decent start but lost a 9,000 pot when he turned a straight but the opponent rivered a full house.
