Building Towers

Nivel 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

On our last scout around the tournament are we discovered a couple more stacks over 300,000.

David Fong has amassed 350,000 chips and is up there at the top of the leaderboard, although he'll need to add to his impressive stack if he is to best that of James Mackey.

Mackey, known as Mig.com in online poker circles, has 360,000 chips in front of him and is in great shape to go super deep in this event. Mackey already has a WSOP bracelet, having won the $5,000 N0-Limit Hold'em event in 2007 and has done his chances of winning another in this event no harm at all.

Double Up for Kuzmin

Nivel 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Alexander Kuzmin just doubled up after raising and calling the three-bet shove of the player one seat over with {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. He flipped for his tournament life and 87,000 chips against {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and the {9-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{A-Spades}{J-Spades} board ran out in his favor.

More For Teng

Nivel 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Andrew Teng has chipped up consistently throughout the day and now also just knocked out a short stack, who got the remainder of his stack in with eight-nine suited. Teng held {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and the board ran out {Q-Spades}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{J-Diamonds}.

Dwyte Pilgrim Bouncing Back

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Dwyte Pilgrim
Dwyte Pilgrim

After taking some hits, Dwyte Pilgrim found himself with just 3,000 in chips. He built that back up to 25,000 and got it all in with {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} against his opponent's {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. The dealer started to put out the flop and the {A-Clubs} came out the window. It wasn't looking good for Pilgrim but the next card fanned was the {J-Diamonds} to give Pilgrim a set. The rest of the board was {3-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Pilgrim doubled up.

Here are some more chip counts from around the room:

DeMaci Knocks Out Brenes

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Humberto Brenes was almost throwing his shark at the dealer but the damage was already done, the charismatic two-times WSOP bracelet winner is out. He left the table with a smile and shook hands with his opponents after losing the final flip with {A-}{K-} against the {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} of Chris DeMaci. The board ran out {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Brenes was covered by about 5,000 in chips.

They haven't Killed Kenny yet

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Unlike the Southpark episodes, Kenny is still alive and kicking. Hallaert that is. And fellow Belgian Bart Lybaert is doing well, too.

Trio of Brits Doing Well

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Rhys Jones
Rhys Jones

Three Brits are well above average stack in this event, Rhys Jones, Scott O'Reilly and Andrew Teng.

Not long ago, Jones won a substantial pot when he open-raised to 6,000 from middle position and was called by the cutoff. Jones then check-called a 10,000 bet on the {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop and then 25,000 on the {7-Spades} turn. Both players checked the arrival of he {8-Spades} on the river, Jones taking the pot down when he showed {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}.
