Maurice Hawkins and Dwyte Pilgrim Taking Control of Table 440

Nivel 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

Two of the more talkative players in the game find themselves seated next to one another at Table 440. Maurice Hawkins is sitting in Seat 1 and Dwyte Pilgrim is to his left in Seat 2. Hawkins found himself with a near triple-up early on, then would add a few more chips to his stack shortly thereafter.

Hawkins opened the action to 17,000 then called an all-in reraise of a short stack. Hawkins had {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and his opponent held {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}, but Hawkins took the lead when the flop came {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. The {J-Clubs} on the turn would give Hawkins's opponent more outs, but the river was the {9-Spades} to give Hawkins a full house.

The hand before that saw Scott O'Reilly open the action for 17,000 and Hawkins call. Pilgrim raised it to 73,000 and O'Reilly moved all in. Hawkins joked "am I even here. Do these two see me here?" before folding. Pilgrim quickly called tabling {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. O'Reilly held {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. The board ran out {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Hawkins gave Pilgrim a congratulatory high-five as Pilgrim let out a deep breath and said "they musta forgot! they musta forgot!"

Pilgrim was down to just 3,000 late last night and now has moved over the half-million mark in chips.

Early Eliminations

Nivel 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The following players have busted out in the first half-hour or so here in Event #8.

Chan Busts Dubois

Nivel 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Patrick Chan opened for a raise in early position and got shoved on by Maxime Dubois, who had roughly 130,000 on the button. Chan thought for awhile before making the call.

Chan: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Dubois: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, giving Chan jacks and the knockout.

17 Out in 17 Minutes

Nivel 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

An early massacre here as the screens only show 161 players left, meaning we have lost 17 players in as many minutes.

The latest casualty was caused by Andrew Teng who increased his stack to 385,000 in the process. Teng raised with {7-}{7-} then called the all-in of Russell Spaid, who held {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}. A queen-high board without hit for either player saw the Brit rake in the chips.

Thompson Gets Double Knockout

Nivel 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The dealer called out “all in” as Christopher Hyden pushed in his stack in middle position. Amir Lehavot called with a small stack on his left, and Christopher Thompson wasted no time pushing over the top in the small blind.

Christopher Hyden: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Amir Lehavot: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Christopher Thompson: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Thompson’s big pair held on the {2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board and Hyden and Lehavot were sent to the cashier after a very short Day 3.

Lauren Billings Eliminated

Nivel 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Lauren Billings started the day as one of the shortest stacks and looked down at {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} and decided to move all in. She was called by James Mackey who held {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. The board would run out {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Mackey's full house was more than enough to send Billings to the rail.

Meanwhile over at Table 439 there was a four-way all in on the very first hand. Two players held ace-king and the other two pocket queens. The board would run dry and the two with ladies would split the pot.

Payouts Everywhere

Nivel 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We've probably lost another ten players already, with Chad Eveslage joining the parade to the cashier.

Eveslage three-bet shoved his short stack with {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Michael Stembera called with {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} board provided no help for the short stack, and Eveslage is out.

Adam Sadick Eliminated

Nivel 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

It is not really unexpected that we are getting many eliminations early. Just now we caught the last moments Adam Sadick's bustout. He got it in with {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} versus {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} and the board ran out jack-high. Hugo Perez then followed Sadick to the rail shortly thereafter.

Kessler Misses a Draw

Nivel 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We found Allen Kessler facing a river bet of 75,000 from a single opponent on a board of {3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Kessler turned {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} face up, saying he was glad all of the money didn't go in on the flop. He mucked his hand.
