Katz Can't Beat Kings

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Cary Katz was faced with a bet of 1,500 on a board of {8-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and made the call. A third player folded, the {6-Hearts} completed the board, and Katz's opponent tossed out 2,400.

Katz, who took eighth in the BIG ONE for ONE DROP, earning $1,306,667, made a crying call, and his opponent opened up {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Katz quickly mucked.

Nick DiVella

Nick DiVella is the first player to reach the six-figure club after recently taking down a pot.

DiVella bet out 11,000 on the river with a set of nines and his opponent called before mucking at the sight of DiVella's set.

With that pot, DiVella climbs to 100,225 to be the first player over the 100,000-chip mark.

DiVella has three WSOP cashes to his name, but most notably finished in 72nd in the 2012 Main Event for a $106,056 payday.

Big-Bet Poker With Venneri

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Antonio Venneri was in the big blind facing a min-raise to 600 when it folded to him. He raised it up to 2,500 which seemed to take his younger opponent by surprise. “How much?” he asked the dealer and then put in the call.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, Venneri checked as did his opponent. The turn was another {k-Hearts} and Venneri bet out 3,000. His opponent briefly thought and then mucked. Another player thought Venneri held {k-}{q-} but his opponent said he knew he didn’t have a king but was forced to lay down his pair anyway. Venneri kept his omerta.

Perkins Doubles with Quads

Bill Perkins
Bill Perkins

After a player opened to 600 from early position, Bill Perkins made it 1,600 to go from the cutoff. Action folded back to the original raiser, who reraised to 4,000, and Perkins called with 7,950 in chips behind.

Flop: {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

Perkins' opponent announced all in, and Perky beat him into the pot.

Perkins: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The turn brought the {9-Hearts} to give Perkins quad nines, and the meaningless {A-Clubs} completed the board to put the likeable businessman back to around 24,000 in chips.

Aces Are Good For Monnette

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

John Monnette opened to 800 from early position and his only customer was the small blind. A flop reading {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs} was bet to the tune of 600 by the small blind and Monnette called. The small blind led for 700 on the {10-Hearts} turn and Monnette raised to 2,100. Monnette's raised was called and the dealer put the {9-Spades} onto the river.

The small blind fired a 2,000 bet and Monnette called.

Monnette: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}
Small blind: {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Monnette's aces held.

A Short Main Event For Bruno

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante
Bruno Fitoussi
Bruno Fitoussi

Bruno Fitoussi has been knocked out. One of the biggest poker players in France had a short lived Main Event and a player at his former table was kind enough to give us some details.

"Man, he got coolered the entire day," the player said.

On Fitoussi's last hand he limp-called a raise and got it in on a {Q-}{9-}{2-} flop with ten-nine suited. The former $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. runner up did not catch any card to help his chances on the turn or river and he hit the rail in the third level of play.

Ezzie Doubles Opponent Up; Still Has 80k

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Following a raise to 750 and a call from Bryce Yockey on the button, Raymond Ezzie three-bet from the small blind to 3,100. The original raiser pummeled all in for 18,150 as Yockey folded and Ezzie called.

Ezzie: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Opponent: {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

With Ezzie in the lead, the {Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} board would ensure his opponent doubled. After the hand, Ezzie still sat with a comfortable 79,300 in chips.
