Lemke Loses One

Nivel 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Brian Lemke checked to Cory Nistler on a flop of {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and he tossed out 2,300. Lemke called.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}, the WSOP bracelet winner check-called another 5,400, then both players knuckled on the {7-Spades} river. Nistler rolled over {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for queens and sevens, and was awarded the pot.

It's All Over, Baby

Nivel 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

We didn't see how the hand played out, but Scotty Nguyen has been eliminated holding {7-}{7-} against an opponent's overpair. Before he headed out of the Brasilia Room, a woman asked Nguyen if she could take a photo with him. The 1998 WSOP Main Event Champion obliged and said, "Sure, baby," and posed for a photo before exiting.

Lew Doubles

Nivel 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Randy Lew and an opponent looked down at a board of {J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. With about 16,000 already in the middle, action checked over to Lew and he fired out a bet of 7,600. His opponent thought for about 30 seconds before dropping out a call.

The {K-Hearts} finished off the board and action checked to Lew for a second time. He went into the tank for well over a minute before announcing that he was all in for his last 15,050. His opponent instantly called but threw his hand into the muck after Lew showed {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a club flush. Lew dragged in the pot and now has about 63,500 in chips.

2009 WSOP Main Event Champ Holding His Own

Nivel 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

We decided to check in with 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Joe Cada at one of the secondary feature tables, and as fate would have it he was involved in a hand.

There was around 8,000 in the middle and a board reading {9-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} when the player in the big blind checked and Cada bet 6,000 from early position. The big blind called and then checked to Cada when the {K-Clubs} completed the board on the river. The Michigan native took the opportunity to bet 11,500, and it was enough to get his opponent off the hand.

Benger Surprise

Nivel 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Griffin Benger was on the button and had called a bet of 9,000 on the flop showing {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Both players checked it when the {a-Diamonds} showed up on the turn and the river card {q-Diamonds} completed the community cards.

Benger’s opponent bet out 6,000 and he raised him to 20,000. There was a pause and some chip counting before the call was eventually thrown out. Benger turned over {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the flush and it looked as if his opponent couldn’t quite believe or comprehend what he was seeing. It took him several seconds to release his cards face down and the chips were soon added to Benger’s stack.

Siffledeen Busts Levkov in Devastating Fashion

Nivel 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

"No! God d*****!"

We heard shouts from a nearby table, so we investigated. Joshua Levkov was pacing away from the table in disgust. The board was {2-}{3-}{4-}{8-}{4-}, and Quentin Siffledeen had {4-}{4-} in front of him for the stone nuts.

Levkov had {6-}{5-} for the flopped nut straight, and after being outdrawn on the river he had sent all of his stack to Siffledeen.

"Sorry, man," Siffledeen said, reaching out to shake Levkov's hand. "I couldn't put you on a straight, you were under the gun. It was a great hand."

Levkov shook his conqueror's hand despite clearly being massively frustrated.

Kaverman and the Kings

Nivel 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Byron Kaverman was in the big blind and had reached the turn of a board reading {j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{k-Spades}.The small blind bet 2,800 and Kaverman made the call as did another player.

The river card was the {9-Diamonds} and the small blind checked. Kaverman weighed up his options and went for a bet of 8,300. The player in mid-position gave him a long hard look as Kaverman sat still as a rock. Both of the other players folded, though, and the pot was pushed to Kaverman.
