Muniz Looks Down at Pocket Rockets at Just the Right Time

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Horacio Chaves Cortes opened for 15,000 from early position only to have Michael Swimelar three-bet all in for 40,000 from the cutoff. Anders Burke then four-bet all in for 170,000 or so from the button, and Sergio Muniz moved his big stack all in from the small blind. Cortes folded and the three players still in turned up their cards.

Swimelar: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Burke: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Muniz: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Muniz woke up with the granddaddy of all hands at just the right time, and he was rewarded with a double elimination after the board ran out {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

Jiganti's Backdoor Flush Good for a Heap

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We found Zach Jiganti dragging a massive pot at Table 367. It appeared he had been paid off on a river bet to the tune of 275,000 with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} on a board of {k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. He's now among the leaders.

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Faced with a three-bet from Ajaykumar Karanam, Simon Charette moved all in for effectively 500,000 or so. Karanam called, putting himself at risk, and he was in dire straits against the WSOP bracelet winner.

Charette: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Karanam: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Charette made a set of kings on the flop of {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}, but Karanam was still drawing live - any {j-} would give him Broadway.

The turn was the {a-Spades}, giving Karanam a meaningless pair, and the {9-Diamonds} bricked off on the river.

"Let's go!" Charette said after the hand. "I think it's because I'm wearing this Ivey Poker hat."

Hat or no hat, Charette is now in the seven-figure club with 1.16 million chips.

Graham Doubles Through King

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ruth Graham got her last 67,000 all in before the flop against Lasell King. Fortunately for Graham, she was in a dominating position heading to the community cards.

Graham: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
King: {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}, keeping Graham's jacks out in front. She scored the double and now has about 135,000 in chips.

Kilpatrick Chips Up

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Mike Parisi opened from the hijack to 14,000 only to have Kory Kilpatrick three-bet in the cutoff to 37,000. Parisi made the call as the dealer spread a {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop with Kilpatrick continuing for 21,000.

Parisi made the call before both players checked the {5-Diamonds} on the turn.

When the river landed the {K-Clubs}, Parisi checked and Kilpatrick pushed out a bet of 53,000 to force a fold from Parisi as Kilpatrick moved to 244,000 in chips.
