Kats & Gardenhire Fall Over at Table 348

Nivel 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We missed the eliminated of Justin Gardenhire, but we do know his 2014 WSOP Main Event came to an end on a bad beat when his {a-}{a-} was cracked by {a-}{k-}. Gardenhire exited in 660th place for $18,406.

Not long after, Stephen Kats got his short stack all in preflop and was racing against Michael Slate.

Slate: {10-}{10-}
Kats: {k-}{q-}

Kats was the one that needed to improve, but that proved easier said than done as the board ran out a dry {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Kats, who spends most of his time playing high-stakes cash games in L.A., was eliminated in 650th place for $18,406.

Einhorn Doubles with King-High

Nivel 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Rasmus Larsen opened to 10,500 from middle position only to have David Einhorn move all in from the big blind for 52,000. Larsen called and the cards were tabled.

Larsen: {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Einhorn: {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Einhorn doubled to 120,000 as Larsen slipped to 820,000 in chips.

Kassela and Busquet Bust

Nivel 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

When we arrived at Table 435, Bodo Sbrzesny was all in and at risk for 66,000 holding {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Matthew Kassela was all in and at risk for less (36,500) with {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, and a third player had both players covered with an identical {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

The flop came down {2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, giving Sbrzesny a flush draw to go with his over cards, but both of his opponents had gut-shot straight draws. The {q-Diamonds} on the turn gave Sbrzesny a pair of queens and his two opponents double belly buster draws, and the {5-Clubs} completed the board, giving Sbrzesny a flush.

He more than doubled to 140,000 chips, while Kassela and the third player are eliminated.

At an adjacent table, Olivier Busquet was eliminated with unknown action.

Justin Truesdell moved all in for his last 41,000 from middle position. Phillip Lowery called from the cutoff and the rest of the table folded.

Truesdell: {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Lowery: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

Lowery was in a dominating position with pocket aces and he held through a {J-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} run out. Truesdell hit the rail and Lowery increased his stack to 713,000.

Hoang Soars

Nivel 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We picked up with the action on a flop of {10-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to see Jesse Wilke, John Hoang, and Goran Mandic involved in the hand. Wilke checked and Hoang fired out a bet of 15,000. Mandic flatted and Wilke came over the top with a check-raise to 58,000. Hoang three-bet to 165,000, Mandic folded, and Wilke four-bet shoved. Hoang called for his tournament life of 437,000 and the hands were turned up.

Hoang: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Wilke: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Hoang led with his set of tens, but Wilke was drawing live with four to a club flush. The subsequent streets bricked out for Wilke, however, with the {Q-Spades} and the {9-Diamonds}, forcing him to ship double up chips to Hoang.

Hoang now has about 945,000 while Wilke has dropped down to 564,000.
