Timur and the Lords of the Underworld

Nivel 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Timur Margolin
Timur Margolin

Robert Kokoska check-called a bet of 37,000 from Timur Margolin on a flop of {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, then knuckled again on the turn ({a-Diamonds}). Margolin tossed out another 76,000, Kokoska called, and the {8-Hearts} paired the board on the river.

Kokoska checked for the third and final time, and Margolin reached for green T25,000 chips on the top of his 40-stack towers. He added a few oranges and yellows, and tossed out a bet.

"How much is that?" Kokoska asked.

"Two-thirteen," the dealer said, cutting out the chips.

"Call," Kokoska said immediately.

Margolin rolled over {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for trip eights, and Kokoska let out a long sigh before checking his cards one last time and mucking.

Paul Tedeschi
Paul Tedeschi

The young French pro Paul Tedeschi just raised under the gun and the action folded to John Cecil Owens who moved all in from the button for 75,000 chips. Both blinds folded and Tedeschi put in the call.

Tedeschi: {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Owens: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The flop brought {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and the Frenchman flopped a straight. The turn was the {J-Clubs} and the river the {Q-Diamonds} knocked Owens out.

"I'm So Dead on that Flop"

Nivel 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

"All in and a call Table 364," we heard a dealer call. By the time we made our way over the cards were already on their backs between Alexander Yen and Jason Deutsch with the former at risk for his last 132,000.

Deutsch: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Yen: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}

Yen flinched a bit and began to get out of his seat when the {3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop delivered Deutsch a pair of aces, but the {9-Clubs} turn gave him pause. Much to his relief, and disbelief, it was followed by another nine when the {9-Hearts} spiked on the river.

"Wow," a couple players at the table said as Yen collapsed back in his seat.

"I'm so dead on that flop. Are you kidding me?" Yen said as he tried to get his bearings.

Lisawad Raises Into the Chip Lead

Nivel 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Pakinai Lisawad
Pakinai Lisawad

Pakinai Lisawad opened from middle position to 17,000 only to have Alexios Zervos three-bet the hijack to 44,000. Lisawad made the call before checking the {2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} flop.

Zervos continued with a 40,000-chip bet only to have Lisawad raise to 90,000.

Zervos went into the tank for close to two minutes before eventually releasing his hand and slipping to 300,000 as Lisawad scooped the moved and motored his stack to 2,052,000 - good enough for the current chip lead.

Yogo Over Hong

Nivel 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We arrived in time to find Iori Yogo all in and at risk for his last 173,000 before the flop against Peter Hong.

Yogo: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Hong: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, keeping Hong's ladies out in front. Fourth street was the {2-Diamonds}, meaning that Yogo needed to catch an ace or a jack on the river in order to stay alive in the Main Event. The river was the miracle that Yogo was looking for, bringing the {A-Spades} and giving him new life. He now sits around 359,000 while Hong has been crippled to just 36,000.

"F*** You!"

Nivel 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Raj Vohra
Raj Vohra

Action folded to Jeff Madsen in the cutoff seat, and he opened with a raise to 17,000. Hans Winzeler was on the button and called, then Raj Vohra called out of the big blind to close the preflop action.

The {J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop was checked by Vohra and Madsen to see Winzeler bet 16,000. Both of his opponents folded, and Winzeler won the pot.

On the next hand, Winzeler opened with a raise in the cutoff seat, and Vohra called from the small blind to see the flop come down {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, and Vohra led for 23,000. Winzeler called, and the river completed the board with the {4-Diamonds}. Vohra bet 8,000, and Winzeler raised to 58,000. After a minute of tanking, Vohra folded, but not without a request.

"Show me one card," Vohra said to Winzeler, which got a smile from the man nicknamed "Miami Hans."

"C'mon, show me one card," Vohra pleaded. "Show me the bad one!"

Still smiling, Winzeler looked back at his hand, then flipped up the {A-Hearts} only.

"F*** you!" blurted out Vohra. "You've got to be f***ing kidding me."

Miles Doubles Through Costello

Nivel 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

A series of preflop raises between Mark Costello, in the cutoff, and Daniel Miles, in the big blind, ended with Miles all in for 221,000.

Miles: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Costello: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Miles turned a king as the first four came {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, but that actually increased Costello's outs from three jacks to four tens. A {7-Clubs} river was a brick.

Hougaard Gets Bluffed

Nivel 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The board read {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} when Jesper Hougaard had apparently checked to his opponent in the big blind, Trevor Martin, who bet 8,000.

When we arrived on the scene Hougaard had put in a check-raise to 46,000 and Martin tanked for a bit before calling.

The river was the {K-Clubs} and Hougaard checked to Martin who bet 85,000.

"I was ready to snap call," Hougaard sighed, as he had clearly changed his mind.

After a while Hougaard folded and Martin showed {4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for a complete bluff.
