Roberts Busts Schanbacher

Nivel 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

After a raise from under the gun by Brian Roberts to 60,000 and three calls, Jack Schanbacher reraised all in fro the big blind for 764,000. Roberts called, and everyone else folded.

Roberts had the {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, and Schanbacher had the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and Schanbacher was sent to the rail.

Martirosian Hits Ace on the River

Nivel 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Daniel Miles and Shahen Martirosian checked on a flop of {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Yorane Kerignard tossed out 105,000, only Martirosian called, and the turn was the {q-Diamonds}. Both players checked.

The river was the {a-Spades}, Martirosian led out for 140,000, and Kerignard called. Martirosian turned over {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a rivered pair of aces, and Kerignard vilently shuffled his cards one last time before mucking.

Politano Wins the Race Against Coats

Nivel 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Bruno Politano
Bruno Politano

Bruno Politano opened to 52,000 in the cutoff, Adam Coats three-bet shoved for about 505,000 on the button and Politano called.

Politano: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Coats: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Coats maintained the lead through the {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop and {Q-Clubs} turn, but the {K-Diamonds} fell on the river to Politano kings and threes to score the elimination.

"I guess that's it," said Coats with a smile on his face before exiting.

Politano is now up to about 6.2 million.

The Lady Doesn't Catch a Lady

Nivel 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Over at one of the secondary feature tables, Jack Schanbacher shoved all in for 352,000 from early position and Maria Ho called him from the hijack.

Ho: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Schanbacher: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

It was a coinflip and Schanbacher was just looking to hold. The {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop improved him to a set, but Ho did pick up a gutshot straight draw to a queen. Fortunately for Schanbacher, the lady didn't catch a lady as the {6-Hearts} blanked on the turn followed by the {8-Hearts} on the river.

Keranen and Van Nguyen Keep Clashing

Nivel 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Over on one of the secondary featured tables Kyle Keranen and Anh Van Nguyen just battled it out in back-to-back pots.

First we saw a hand get checked down after the flop with quite a lot in the middle on a {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} board. Keranen showed {5-}{5-} and lost to Van Nguyen's {7-}{7-}.

On the very next hand Van Nguyen raised to 51,000 and the button called. Keranen called from the big blind and the flop came down {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. The action was checked to the button who bet 60,000.

Keranen made the call and Van Nguyen opted to check-raise to 227,000. The button folded and Keranen made the call.

On the turn the {Q-Hearts} hit and both players checked. The river was the {6-Hearts} and Keranen lead out for 240,000, after which Van Nguyen tanked and folded.

Newhouse Still Surging

Nivel 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Chris Johnson bet 150,000 from middle position on a board of {10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, and Mark Newhouse made the call from the cutoff. Johnson fired again on the {5-Clubs} river, this time for about 350,000, and Newhouse didn't even ask for a count. He just asked to see Johnson's stack before he shoved all in, putting Johnson at risk for a bit less than 2 million. Johnson dumped his hand after about a minute.

Diamonds are Forever

Nivel 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

After calling a bet from Pakinai Lisawad on a board of {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, Zachary Hirst was faced with another wager of 110,000 on the river ({q-Diamonds}).

Lisawad didn't call this bet, rather he put in a raise to 375,000. Lisawad called the bet, then mucked when Hirst turned over {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a flush.

Ho Eliminates Palo

Nivel 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Maria Ho is working on her eighth cash at the 2014 World Series of Poker, and it's already set up to be her largest. Now, with the last pot she just won to eliminate Michael Palo, Ho has a chance to go even deeper in this event and really make a charge at becoming the first female to reach the November Nine.

On the hand she busted Palo, action folded to Ho on the button, and she raised to 53,000. Palo moved all in from the small blind for right around 600,000, and Ho quickly called when action fell back on her. Her quick action was justified when she tabled the {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} to have Palo on the ropes with his {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. The flop further secured the hand for Ho when it came down {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. The turn was the {A-Clubs}, and the river completed the board with the {A-Diamonds}.

Finishing with a full house, kings full of aces, Ho busted Palo and moved to nearly 2.7 million in chips.

Ho is one of the most respected female poker players in the world, with over $1.56 million in career live tournament earnings, three six-figure scores, and one runner-up finish at the WSOP for $540,020 coming in 2011. Ho's deepest run in the Main Event came in 2007 when she took 38th for $237,865, and she also cashed in the big one in 2012 for $32,871 after taking 322nd place.

Wasserman is a Sly Dog

Nivel 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded around to Samuel Wasserman on the button and he put in a riase to 55,000. Christopher Sly then three-bet all in for 420,000 from the small blind, the big folded, and Wasserman made the call.

Sly: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Wasserman: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Sly was ahead, and he got even stronger when the {a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop delivered him an ace. The {5-Diamonds} turn actually left Wasserman drawing dead, and after the {8-Hearts} was put out on the river, he sent some chips over to Sly.
