Martin Eliminates Sighe, Flirts With 3 Million

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Trevor Martin
Trevor Martin

We arrived at the table in time to see Florian Sighe all in and at risk against Trevor Martin for what looked to be around 470,000 total before the flop.

Sighe held {Q-Spades}{q-Hearts} but was in need of improvement against Martin's {K-Spades}{k-Clubs}. The board came down {9-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, allowing Martin's kings to hold and eliminating Sighe from play. With this elimination, Martin now has 2.97 million in chips.

Yunis Climbing, Reilly Reeling

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Nick Yunis opened to 33,000 from the cutoff only to have Mukul Pahuja three-bet the button to 82,000. With the action on Tim Reilly in the big blind, he cold-four-bet to 192,000. After ample time considering their options, both Yunis and Pahuja made the call before the {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} flop was checked through.

The turn of the {2-Spades} was checked by Reilly as Yunis bet out 240,000 with Pahuja folding and Reilly calling. The river of the {7-Diamonds} saw Reilly check again before Yunis announced he was all in.

Reilly went deep into the tank for several minutes before eventually releasing his hand and slipping to 286,000 as Yunis climbed to 2,267,000 in chips.

Shay Over Daryl Roberts

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded to Daryl Roberts in the small blind and he made it 35,000 to go. Bryan Shay peeked at his hole cards in the big blind and announced a three-bet to 110,000. Roberts flatted to see a flop.

The dealer produced {J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} on the flop and Roberts checked. Shay continued for 100,000 only to have Roberts come over the top for 225,000 total. Shay called and the {5-Clubs} dropped down on the turn. Roberts checked for a second time and Shay dropped 150,000 into the middle. Roberts spend about 90 seconds in the tank before electing to kick his cards into the muck. Shay was pushed the pot and now flirts with 2 million in chips.

Jean-Jacques Zeitoun was all in for 108,000 with the {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} against the {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for Andrey Zaichenko. Following a run out of {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}, Zeitoun was out the door and Zaichenko climbed back to 1.525 million.

Fair Doubles Through Martirosian

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Picking up the action after the turn of a {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} board with more than 800,000 in the pot, Ryan Fair was all in for 217,000 with {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} agaInst Shahen Martirosian's {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}. The {10-Diamonds} river was no help to Martirosian, locking up the double for Fair.

Tschirch Doubles Through Wang

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

We found Marc Tschirch with what appeared to be a four-bet to 163,000 in front of him in early position. Jing Wang made the call on the button, and the flop came {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades} as the camera crew rushed over for the monster pot developing. Tschirch fired out a continuation-bet of 188,000, and Wang called. The {9-Clubs} led to an unusual bet from Tschirch: 137,000 a decent bit smaller than his flop sizing. Wang thought for a before moving all in, and Tschirch double-checked his cards before snap-calling.

Tschirch: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Wang: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

"Wow," a player said.

"Unless that next card's the {9-Clubs}..." another player said, alluding to the fact that Wang's only hope was a foul deck. The {3-Clubs} hit the river, and Wang hung his head in disappointment as he shipped 519,000 across the table.

Eyster Doubles

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

From the button Kevin Eyster moved all in and Danny Yousefzadeh called from the big blind. Eyster was all in for 178,000 chips and the showdown went as following.

Yousefzadeh: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Eyster: {K-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} and Eyster hit a full house to double up. The winner of this year's $10,000 6-max still has plenty of work to be done but this first double up definitely pointed him in the right direction.

Don't Call it a Comeback

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Robert Georato open-shoved for 41,000 from early position and Scott Mahin called out of the big blind.

Georate: {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Mahin: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Georate was in rough shape, but the {8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop gave him a gut-shot straight draw and a backdoor flush draw. The {j-Clubs} on the turn completed his straight, and he avoided a king to survive as the {3-Clubs} completed the board. Georate doubled to 108,000.

The very next hand he was at risk again, this time with {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} against Jeff Madsen's {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Madsen was the one who crippled Georate, but this time he doubled when the board came {q-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Suddenly, Georate went from two and a half big blinds to 240,000 chips (15 big blinds). Madsen is back down to 260,000.

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jeff Madsen was all in preflop with the {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for 177,000 against the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for Robert Georato. The {J-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} board gave Madsen a come-from-behind double up, and crippled Georato to 45,000 in chips.
