McCorkell KOs Kuntz

Nivel 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Marcia Kuntz
Marcia Kuntz

Michael Aron opened to 80,000 and Marcia Kuntz moved all in from the hijack for 1,035,000. With the action on Craig McCorkell, he moved all in and Aron quickly folded.

Kuntz: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
McCorkell: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

With Kuntz dominated, the {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} board would ensure Kuntz hit the rail to leave just two females remaining; Maria Ho and Mikiyo Aoki.

Haugen Beats Jacobson and Roberts Out of This One

Nivel 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Matthew Haugen
Matthew Haugen

Matthew Haugen raised to 80,000 from middle position, Martin Jacobson called from the hijack seat, and Brian Roberts called from the big blind. That prompted the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, and Roberts checked. Haugen bet 100,000, Jacobson called, and Roberts called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, and all three players checked around to see the {3-Clubs} complete the board. All three players checked one final time to get to a showdown.

Roberts showed the {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for two pair, aces and sevens, but his hand was beaten by the {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} that Haugen held for aces and tens. Jacobson mucked without showing, and Haugen was awarded the pot.

Maria Ho Looks To Improve on Her 2007 38th Place Finish

Nivel 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Maria Ho's very deep in the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event and looks to better her 38th place finish from back in 2007. In 2007 Ho was the best woman standing and on Day 5 there are currently just four remaining.

Greer's Big Slick Sends Olsson to the Rail

Nivel 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Emil Olsson in earlier WSOP action.
Emil Olsson in earlier WSOP action.

After shoving the hand before and swiping the blinds and antes, an under-the-gun Emil Olsson moved all in for a second time for 475,000. This time Garrett Greer called him from the cutoff, and after the button and blinds all folded, the cards were turned on their backs.

Greer: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Olsson: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Olsson had some major kicker issues, and things didn't look too good on the {6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop. "Chop outs," Greer pointed out when the {6-Hearts} paired the board on the turn, which inspired the slightest of smiles from Olsson. The dealer burned on last time and put out the {6-Diamonds} on the river. The card failed to help Olsson and his 2014 WSOP Main Event came to an end in the last level of Day 5.

One for Devo

Nivel 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Bryan Devonshire completed from the small blind, and David Yingling checked his option in the big blind. That brought about the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop, and both players checked to see the {7-Diamonds} pair the board on the turn. Devonshire bet 45,000, and Yingling folded.

Kemps Doubles Through Baron

Nivel 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

We arrived at the table in time to find Oscar Kemps all in and at risk for his last 1.255 million before the flop against Isaac Baron. Kemps held {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and was racing with Baron's {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

The flop came down {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, keeping Kemps in the lead with a pair of nines. The {Q-Hearts} rolled off on the turn, giving Baron outs to make a higher heart flush and score the elimination. Fortunately for Kemps, the {4-Clubs} finished the board and he officially secured the double. Kemps now has 2.61 million in chips while Baron has dropped to 1.74 million.

Big Shove from Keranen

Kyle Keranen
Kyle Keranen

Kyle Keranen had what looked like a reraise of 250,000 sitting in front of him in the small blind, and Lee Taylor responded with another raise to 685,000. Keranen went into the tank, then shoved for effectively 2.265 million.

Taylor folded rather quickly, and the pot was pushed to Keranen.

Eveslage Flops the Nuts for the Double

Nivel 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Chad Eveslage moved in preflop for 560,000 from the cutoff and Jeffrey Loiacono tank-called from the small blind. Mike Stembera released his big blind, and it was off to the races.

Eveslage: {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Loiacono: {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The {J-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop hit both players hard, but Eveslage jumped in front with Broadway. He needed to face an ace or a ten to survive, and he did just that with the {8-Spades} turn and {9-Spades} river.
